Work area safety Keep children and bystanders away while operating. Distractions can cause you to lose control. Keep work area clean and well lit. Cluttered or dark areas invite accidents. Personal safety 4. Wear ANSI-approved safety goggles, NIOSH-approved dust mask/respirator, and heavy-duty work gloves during use and service. Stay alert and use common sense when operating. Do not use when tired or under the influence of drugs, alcohol or medication. Do not overreach. Keep proper footing and balance at all times. This enables better control in unexpected situations. Dress properly. Do not wear loose clothing or jewelry. Keep your hair, clothing and gloves away from moving parts. Loose clothes, jewelry or long hair can be caught in moving parts. Specifications Throat Depth 15-3/4 Top Die Size 6 Included Anvils Flat, 1/2, 1, 1-1/2, 2-1/2, 5 & 9 Unpacking When unpacking, check to make sure that the item is intact and undamaged. If any parts are missing or broken, please call Harbor Freight Tools at the number shown on the cover of this manual as soon as possible. Set Up Instructions Read the entire Important Safety Information section at the beginning of this manual including all text under subheadings therein before set up or use of this product. Note: For additional information regarding the parts listed in the following pages, refer to the Assembly Diagram near the end of this manual. 4. 5. Put the Sleeve (14) and then Anvil Bracket (13) into the holder at the end of the Frame. Screw the Adjusting Bar (11) into the unit. Place the two pieces of the Die Rack (18) onto the unit and secure with Hex Nut (16) and Hex Bolt (17). Secure the English Wheel at its mid-point with a vise. Only mount the English Wheel on a work surface that is capable of supporting both the weight of the Wheel and the work piece. Slide the Anvil Shafts (12) through the hole in the Anvils (4-10) and place them in the Die Rack. Operating Instructions Read the entire Important Safety Information section at the beginning of this manual including all text under subheadings therein before set up or use of this product. Always wear work gloves when performing operations with the English Wheel. Select the proper Anvil for the job, and place it on the Anvil Bracket. Insert the work piece between the Die and the chosen Anvil. Page 4

4. 5. 6. 7. Turn the Adjusting Bar until the Top Die and the Anvil engage the metal. It is recommended to have a loose pinch, rather than a tight one. A tight pinch will make it harder to move the metal and may cause creasing. A loose pinch makes it easy to move the metal, and allows greater accuracy. Although, it may take more passes to form the metal. Form the metal by pushing and pulling it between the dies. When finished, loosen the Adjusting Bar and remove the work piece from the English Wheel. Clean, then store the product indoors out of children s reach. Maintenance And Servicing Caution Damaged products can fail, causing personal injury. Do not use a damaged product. If abnormal noise or vibration occurs, have the problem corrected before further use. Cleaning, maintenance, and lubrication BEFORE EACH USE, inspect the general condition of the product. Check for loose screws, misalignment or binding of moving parts, cracked or broken parts and any other condition that may affect safe operation. After Use, clean external surfaces of the product with a clean cloth. Page 5
