Perimeter Site Improvements Phase 1-5 Architect: W+W Architects and Planners Anticipated Milestone Activities: Phase 1, 2 & 3 Construction Manager: Bernards 08.08.13 Directional Signage Contractor: Woodcliff Corporation 08.05.13 17 th Street Curbing Contract Start: December 05, 2012 08.07.13 Concrete Under Pavers Contract Completion: December 31, 2013 Scope: New asphalt paving, curbs, gutters and concrete paver drive entrances will be constructed to enhance the traffic flow throughout the Campus. Boarding the property; masonry walls and pilasters with decorative tile insets will be installed. Illuminated Santa Ana College signage will be mounted on the masonry walls at various entrances to the College. New site lighting, irrigation and landscaping will complete the design. Traffic Alert: Campus Entrance at 17 th Street Closed for construction activities. Access to parking lot #1 is limited to faculty and staff only through the temp drive located on the west side of lot #1. 17 th St. lane closure scheduled from 6/13/13 6/28/13 for the building of the new curb and gutter associated with the new 17 th St. Entrance. Phase 3 temporary construction entrance between parking lots 3&4 Soil Export from 17 th Street Main Entrance (One day duration occurring on 07/25/13) Status: Phase 1 of this project is nearing completion and has been opened for access to vehicles and pedestrians. Phase 2 of this project is 50% complete. Phase 3 of this project is underway. The exterior work consist of new monumental stair at the north side of the building leading to a new storefront entrance, exterior lighting upgrade, concrete flat work, replacing of doors and windows in addition to some door hardware upgrades. Interior work includes two classroom renovations. Traffic Alerts: Construction traffic is ongoing into parking lot 1. Resurfacing Parking Lot 6 & 8 Resurfacing Lot 6 & 8 Consultant: BKF Engineers Anticipated Milestone Activities: Construction Manager: Bernards 07.15.13 Start of Phase 1 Work Contractor: Haitbrink Asphalt Paving, Inc. 07.29.13 Scheduled Start of Phase 2 Work Contract Start: July 15, 2013 08.08.13 Scheduled Start of Phase 3 Work Contract Completion: August 19, 2013 Scope: Resurfacing of Parking Lots 6 & 8 and the access road west of Building B. Work includes removal of select trees and islands in both lots, and redirection of traffic combined with a complete reorientation of the parking stalls in Parking Lot 8. Resurfacing work consists of a combination of complete removal, grinding, and 2 overlay as required. Some areas only receive slurry coating. Traffic Alerts: 30% of Parking Lot 6 is out of service along with associated access roads. 20% of Parking Lot 8 is out of service. Access to the Early Childhood Education Center is impacted and will be for the duration of Phase 1 and 2. Status: Phase 1 of this project is 90% complete and Phase 2 is underway. Recent construction activities have been listed below: Phase 1 portions of Parking Lots 6 & 8 have been reopened. Temp fencing has been relocated to Phase 2. Phase 2 demolition has been completed. Replacement curb and gutter has been installed. Grinding and slot patching is underway. Page 5 of 7
