CUSTOMS PROCESSING EXPECTATIONS HERE ARE SOME POINTS TO EXPECT WHEN DEALING WITH BOYCHUK VENTURES INC. CUSTOMS PROCESSING: 1. Importing a vehicle can be challenging the first time. Boychuk Ventures has done this many times and will make it as painless as possible for you. There are two piece to a successful move across the border: Transport: This to arrange pick up and delivery of the vehicle. Transport payment will be paid for in US$ as a separate invoice. This can be paid for by credit card (form attached) or wire transfer. Contact accounting if payment by wire or direct deposit. Customs: This is the handling of the paperwork required to process your vehicle across the border. Lack of proper paperwork is the biggest problem getting a vehicle across the border on schedule. The fees for customs are explained in detail in separate section below. Canadian Customs Fees (Duty/GST) will be paid IN Canada via a payment link sent by email or wire funds to Canadian account. Special instructions will be provided if making payment by wire. 2. The first step is to get the requested paperwork (checklist of items that meets your import situation) as soon and complete as possible. We have many vehicles in process at any one time so we count on you to assist the process. 3. The paperwork NEEDs to get to Turbo before the vehicle is loaded on the truck. If it is a purchase and you need Turbo to talk to the salesperson, please let us know. If the TITLE is not ready when the vehicle is ready to load, Boychuk Ventures can make arrangements to meet the title up with the vehicle before it crosses the border. The title must be sent via a tracking courier such as FedEx or UPS and fees will be the responsibility of the seller or buyer. 4. Unless it is an enclosed transport trailer, most open transport vehicles will need to change trailers before it can cross the border. Less than 1% of US carriers are licensed or willing to transport vehicles into Canada. 5. Once paperwork is received and the vehicle is loaded and you are having Boychuk Ventures Customs Processing handle your importation paperwork, we will start the process to file your export paperwork with US Customs and import paperwork with Canada Customs, calculate the GST/Duty and provide you an invoice of the total amount due. If you have your own Customs Broker, we will need to know the name, phone number and contact. You should make sure your broker is processing BOTH US and Canada customs paperwork. If Boychuk Ventures Inc. gets to the border and paperwork has not been filed or missing, a wait time of $100 per hour will be charged, or the vehicle will be unloaded and put in storage. Importer will be responsible for all storage fees before the vehicle is delivered or upon delivery. 6. Once import fees are paid and a RECALL letter has been provided, the following takes place. Note: Some manufactures will not provide a recall letter to you in the US. A recall letter must be obtained from the Canadian dealership once the vehicle has been received in Canada. If possible, Turbo suggest you make the recall letter a requirement of your purchase in the US unless it is a manufacture's requirement to obtain it in Canada to maintain vehicle warranty. a. A customs invoice and a B3 report will be emailed to you. B3 report is proof of payment. b. Form 1 will be processed with the vehicle at the border. A STAMPED FORM 1 will arrive in the vehicle along with the vehicle's US title and bill of sale. The US title will have an EXPORT stamped on it. c. 48 72 hours (Mon - Fri) AFTER the vehicle has been processed at the border, Canada RIV will email Boychuk Ventures or buyer notifiing them that Form 2 is available. We prefer this gets emailed directly to you for download as it is the fastest way to get it. NOTE: If a RECALL letter has NOT been provided, Form 2 will not be issued. d. Upon receiving Form 2, you can proceed to Canadian Tire for your vehicle inspection. e. To register the vehicle, take stamped Form 1, completed Form 2, B3 Report, US title and bill of sale to your Registar. GST/Duty paid through Boychuk Ventures Customs Processing does not include any providential taxes or license fees.
