Sheet S-001 Structural General Notes, General Note 12, C, Enclosure Classification* * To achieve enclosed classification, all glazed openings shall be impact resistant and meet the requirements of the large missile test of ASTM E 1996. All louvers shall meet the requirements of an approved impact resisting standard or the large missile test of ASTM E 1996. Page-2
7. Sheet S-001 Structural General Notes, General Note 12, C, Wind Criteria: Revise Wind Criteria to Category IV. Wind Design Criteria shall be the greater requirement of either ASCE 7, or IBC Category IV, Enhanced Protection. 8. Civil Drawings, Sheet C-2.0: 1-foot depth of sand fill has already been added to across the site by the Owner. The building surcharge area still needs to be filled with additional fill material to equal the difference in the final elevation shown and the existing fill height. See Existing Topographical Survey attached to the Addendum for existing Grades. 9. Mechanical, Plumbing, and Electrical Drawings: See attachment for Clarifications to Mechanical, Plumbing and Electrical Specifications. IV SPECIFICATIONS: 1. Bidder s Checklist, Page 5. SC-4.01 is not applicable to the Work of this Project. 3. Instructions to Bidders, Davis-Bacon Act: This Project is not funded with Federal Funds. There are no prevailing wage provisions for the Work of this Contract. The Bidder is not required to comply with Davis-Bacon Wage Rates. 4. Agreement, Article V: The Contract Time shall be 420 Calendar Days. Final Acceptance shall be within 45 Calendar Days after the date of Substantial Completion. 11. Section 095423 Linear Metal Ceilings: Change 2.2 A. Change Basis of Design from USG Paraline III to USG Paraline Plus. Unit size is 7-inches. All other references to Paraline III shall be to Paraline Plus. Lineal Meta Ceilings installed in exterior locations shall be rated for Wind Loads noted elsewhere in the Drawings and Specifications, as well as for exterior exposure. Interior Units shall generally match the exterior units in appearance. Interior units are not required to comply with Wind Load and exterior exposure requirements. 12. The Contractor may provide a deeper Frame Depth from one of the Approved Aluminum-Framed Entrances and Storefronts Manufacturers to meet the required Wind Load. Page-5
VI. QUESTIONS ANSWERED 1. CxA Services, LLC Commissioning Specialists Question: Are Commissioning Requirements a part of Owner Provided Services. Answer: There are no Owner Provided Commissioning Services specified to be paid by the Owner. All required Commissioning Services are specified in the in the Sections of the Specifications and are paid by the General Contractor as a part of the Scope of Work of this Contract. 2. Hernandez Consulting & Construction Question: 1. Is this project sales tax exempt? If the project is sales tax exempt can the government provide a sales tax exemption certificate? Answer: Yes, this Project is Tax Exempt on materials. Tax Exempt Certificate will be provided to the Successful Bidder and his Sub-Contractors for materials and goods. Question 2. Does the owner currently have a 3rd party testing service for those items requiring testing or is the contractor free to locate and hire applicable testing firms? Answer: 3 rd Party Testing is specific to the Specification Sections. See each Specification Section for 3 rd Testing responsibility. Question 3. Who is responsible for the utility locations? Answer: The contractor is responsible to contact One Call and ensure that the utility companies mark the locations. Question 4. Is the owner or architect aware of any utility connection fee for the project? Answer: The contractor needs to contact Jefferson Parish to obtain permits and connection fees. Question 5. When will the owner release the Geotechnical report? Answer: Geotechnical Report is included as an attachment to this Addendum. Page-6
Question 6. Will any work be allowed during the two months after new soil is brought up to site? Answer: No work will be allowed within the surcharged area footprint for the required two months. However pile testing is permitted, as per the specifications. Question 7. The checklist requires two copies of the bid form. Will two copies of the entire bid packet be required, or just the bid form? Answer: Bidder shall provide two complete original notarized copies of all Bid Documents with his Bid. 3. Construction Masters Question: Surcharge is shown to remain for (2) months. How will pile driving operations commence while the surcharge is still in place?? Is a time extension (or a break in the contract time) figured while the surcharge is in place?? Answer: Permanent pile placement will not be permitted during the required two months for surcharge. The contract time includes the two months required for surcharge and the time required for pile testing. Contract time will not be suspended during surcharge. Question: On sheet A-001, several partition types only identify finishes on one side of the partition; these include P3 & P5. Please clarify finishes for opposite side. Answer: For P3 and P-5, provide 5/8 thick, Type-X Fire Rated Gypsum Board one side, and Cementitious Backer Units opposite Side as specified in UL U404 as indicated on the Partition Type. Question: On sheet A-001, partition type P9 does not indicate what finish is to be provided on either side, please clarify. Answer: For P-9, provide 2-Layers 1/2 thick Gypsum Board both Sides as specified in UL U412 as indicated on the Partition Type. Question: There are (2) different partition type P10 s called out. Based on the details & the surrounding construction, I assume the P10 on page A-002 to be correct, please confirm. Answer: Omit Partition Type P10 (Metal Studs) on Sheet A-001. Use Partition Type 10 (CMU) on Sheet A-002. Page-7
Question: There are boxed notes on page A-101 (a boxed #1, for example, running along the P8 wall at the entry lobby 103) that do not correspond to a note; please clarify. Answer: Boxes on the exterior side of the wall are Scored Concrete in the Plaza. See Sheet A-801. Lines on the interior side of the walls are the Slab Edge for Future Tenant Work... Provide the Texture and Pattern specified in Section 033100 Stamped Concrete Paving, for areas inside of the Boxes. Question: There are several references to flat screen TV s throughout the building (specifically in the fitness center 232); please clarify if these are to be provided by the Owner. Answer: Wall-Mounted Flat Screen TV s are specified in Section 118200 Miscellaneous Equipment. Question: Mechanical room 225 is indicated to have a 2x2 ACT ceiling on the finish schedule (A-001); however, on the reflected ceiling plan (A-202) it has a gyp board ceiling indicated; please clarify. Answer: Provide Suspended Gypsum Board as indicated on the Reflected Ceiling Plan, and Partition Type. Revise the finish Schedule to read Suspended Painted Gypsum Board. Question: Restroom 234, 235, & 237 are all indicated to have rubber weight room floor tiles (note number 11); I assume this is supposed to be #12 (ceramic tile). Answer: Provide Ceramic Tile Floor Finish 12 in Rooms 234, 235, and 237 in lieu of Rubber Floor 11. Question: Covered area 111 does not have any flooring indicated (A-801), is this area to be sealed concrete?? Answer: Exposed Area is 110. Provide Dry-Shake Color Hardener as specified in Section 033100 Stamped Concrete Paving.
