Safety Warnings and Precautions WARNING: When using this product, basic safety precautions should always be followed to reduce the risk of personal injury and damage to equipment. WARNING: All persons not involved in the loading process must stand clear of the loading ramps. Read all instructions before using this product! 1. Avoid working alone. If an accident happens, an assistant can bring help. 2. Keep work area clean. Cluttered areas invite injuries. 3. Observe work area conditions. Keep work area well lighted. 4. Keep children away. Children must never be allowed in the work area. Do not let them handle machines, tools, or extension cords. 5. Store idle equipment. When not in use, tools must be stored in a dry location to inhibit rust. Always lock up tools and keep out of reach of children. 6. Dress properly. Do not wear loose clothing or jewelry as they can be caught in moving parts. Protective, electrically nonconductive clothes and nonskid footwear are recommended when working. Wear restrictive hair covering to contain long hair. 7. Use eye and ear protection. Always wear ANSI-approved impact safety goggles.. Do not overreach. 10. Use the right tool for the job. Do not attempt to force a small tool or attachment to do the work of a larger industrial tool. There are certain applications for which this tool was designed. Do not modify this tool and do not use this tool for a purpose for which it was not intended. 11. Stay alert. Watch what you are doing, use common sense. Do not operate any tool when you are tired. 12. Check for damaged parts. Before using any tool, any part that appears damaged should be carefully checked to determine that it will operate properly and perform its intended function. Check for alignment and binding of moving parts; any broken parts or mounting fixtures; and any other condition that may affect proper operation. Any part that is damaged should be properly repaired or replaced by a qualified technician. Do not use the tool if any switch does not turn On and Off properly. 13. Replacement parts and accessories. When servicing, use only identical replacement parts. Use of any other parts will void the warranty. Only use accessories intended for use with this tool. Approved accessories are available from Harbor Freight Tools. 14. Do not operate tool if under the influence of alcohol or drugs. Read warning labels on prescriptions to determine if your judgment or reflexes are impaired while taking drugs. If there is any doubt, do not operate the tool. 15. Maintenance. For your safety, maintenance should be performed regularly by a qualified technician. 16. Ground contact. Use your Ramps on a solid, level, flat, dry surface. Make sure the flange faces down and the Tongue (#2) edge fully contacts the tailgate. 17. Clean Ramps. Prior to each use, clean dirt, oil, or any debris off ramps. WARNING: NEVER EXCEED THE 1000 LB. MAXIMUM. LOAD VEHICLE SLOWLY. DO NOT DROP LOAD ONTO RAMP; THIS MAY REDUCE LOAD CAPACITY AND POSSIBLY LEAD TO PERSONAL INJURY OR PROPERTY DAMAGE. Warning: The warnings, cautions, and instructions discussed in this instruction manual cannot cover all possible conditions and situations that may occur. It must be understood by the operator that common sense and caution are factors which cannot be built into this product, but must be supplied by the operator. Assembly Warning: In the following assembly process, the flange pictured below must face down with the Tongue (#2) edge fully contacting the tailgate. It is designed to keep the Ramps from moving once the weight of the load is riding on the ramp. Flange Tongue Edge Refer to the Assembly Drawing on Page 6. Place a Flat Washer (#6) on each of Four Hex Bolts (#3), and insert Hex Bolts (#3) from the top (as pictured on page 6). Secure Hex Bolts with Lock Washers (#4) and Hex Nut (#5). Maintenance 1. Prior to each use, clean dirt, oil, or any debris off ramps. 2. Periodically check the ramps for stress fractures and breakage. 3. Tighten nuts and bolts before each use. Operation Warning! Make sure no persons or animals are under the ramps or truck bed during the loading process. Warning! Do not run the load vehicle prior to the loading process. The vehicle s engine must be cool to the touch before loading. Warning! Never exceed the 1000 Lb. maximum. Load vehicle slowly. Do not drop load onto ramp; This may reduce load capacity and possibly lead to personal injury and/or property damage. Reminder: All loading and unloading must be done a flat, level, dry surface. Danger! These ramps do not have safety chains. NEVER use these ramps to load an ATV or another four-wheeled vehicle. Loading a Motorcycle. (Recommend 3 persons participate in loading) 1. Make sure the ramps are clean of dirt, debris, grease and oil. 2. The Tongue Edge must face down (see Assembly, page 4) fully contacting the tailgate of the truck. 3. Position a person on each side of the motorcycle. Each person should hold either the front handlebar or the front fork, where they can steer/guide the vehicle. They should position their other hand toward the rear of the seat or the rear fork. The third person can start the process from the rear, by pushing, then move to the inside of the truck bed to take control of the motorcycle when it enters the truck bed. 4. Put motorcycle in neutral. 5. As the motorcycle contacts the ramp, make sure the ramp remains straight, and the tongue edge remains in contact with the truck bed. If not, roll back and slowly start over. Loading a dolly with an appliance. (2-3 persons) 1. Make sure the ramps are clean of dirt, debris, grease and oil. Space the ramps to match the dolly wheels. 2. The Tongue Edge must face down (see Assembly, page 4) fully contacting the tailgate of the truck. 3. Position people according to the needs of the particular appliance. 4. As the dolly wheels contact the ramps, make sure the ramps remains straight, and the tongue edges remains in contact with the truck bed. If not, roll back and slowly start over. We will return repaired products at our expense, but if we determine there is no defect, or that the defect resulted from causes not within the scope of our warranty, then you must bear the cost of returning the product.
