CFA SINGAPORE RESEARCH PROGRAMME* (IBF Level 1 & 2) INCORPORATES THE PREPARATORY COURSE FOR THE CFA LEVEL 1 & 2 EXAMINATION The CFA Singapore Research Programme helps prepare graduates, young and mid-career professionals for entry level research analysts positions. It is ideal for anyone seeking employment and a career in investment research or a related field as they work towards a goal of attaining the CFA and becoming an IBF-certified practitioner. The CFA Singapore Research Programme (IBF Level 1) and CFA Singapore Research Programme (IBF Level 2) are developed for CFA Level 1 and Level 2 examination candidates respectively. Course participants taking the CFA Singapore Research Programme (IBF Level 2) mostly have some Finance or Investment sector experience and prior completion of the IBF Level 1 programme is preferable although not a must. ABOUT CFA & IBF Standards The Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Program is a globally recognized, graduate level curriculum that provides a strong foundation of real-world investment analysis and portfolio management skills along with the practical knowledge you need in today s investment industry. It also emphasizes the highest ethical and professional standards. The IBF Standards (previously the Financial Industry Competency Standards or FICS) represent a set of competency standards developed by the industry, for the industry. It provides a practice-oriented development roadmap for financial sector practitioners to attain the necessary training to excel in their respective job roles. The Research job role refers to the conduct of fundamental analysis on companies globally, providing institutional and retail clients with industry-specific and in-depth research and analysis on diversified industries. IBF Standards Training Scheme (IBF-STS) This programme has been accredited under the IBF Standards, and is eligible for funding under the IBF Standards Training Scheme (IBF-STS), subject to all eligibility criteria being met. Candidates are advised to assess the suitability of the programme and its relevance to participants business activities or job roles. IBF-STS provides 70% funding for direct training costs subject to a cap of S$7,000 per candidate per programme subject to all eligibility criteria being met. Individual Track Non-company sponsored individuals who are Singapore Citizens or Singapore Permanent Residents and physically based in Singapore. Company-Sponsored Track Singapore-based financial sector entities (1) sponsoring staff for qualifying training programmes: - Financial Institutions; and - Other entities regulated by The Monetary Authority of Singapore (either licensed or exempted from licensing) To be eligible for IBF-STS funding, sponsored staff should be: (i) A Singapore Citizen or Singapore Permanent Resident; (ii) Of executive level (2) and involved in or supporting financial sector activities; (iii) Physically based in Singapore. (1) Entities who are significantly involved in supporting financial sector activities will be assessed for eligibility on a caseby-case basis.
