Passenger Car Technician As a Passenger Car Technician your work will initially focus on service maintenance, carrying out routine maintenance and basic repairs. You will then progress to complex fault diagnosis and repair, using Mercedes-Benz specialist diagnostic equipment. Requirements Aged between 17 and 22 Completed SPM (or equivalent) with at least 3 credits and a Pass in English Completed IGCSE/O-Levels/UEC with at least 3 credits and a Pass in English Vocational college with > 3.0 CGPA Possess good interpersonal skills

So what s involved in the apprenticeship program? Below we answer some of the questions you may have. What is an apprenticeship? An apprenticeship is an excellent opportunity to gain professional qualifications and experience. You will earn as you learn as well as gain practical skills in the workplace. What career opportunities are there with a Mercedes-Benz Apprenticeship? We make every effort to provide you with the opportunity of a long-term career with Mercedes-Benz. Many of our former graduates are continuing to enjoy a rewarding career with Mercedes-Benz and we are proud that to date we have over 800 graduates coming from our program. Does it cost anything to become an apprentice? No. All costs are fully sponsored by Mercedes-Benz Malaysia and our Dealers. How long is the program? The program is delivered over a 3-year period. It incorporates International Qualifications up to Level 3 and a tailored Mercedes-Benz Competence element, which ensures your continued development. Will I earn a salary? Yes. As an apprentice you are considered a full-time Trainee and you will receive a highly competitive allowance of RM800 per month for the duration of the 3 year program. After this, you will have guaranteed employment within or Dealer Network which is backed by guaranteed salary for 4 years.
What qualifications can I achieve? Upon successful completion, you will gain NDTS Level 3 (endorsed by JPK), City & Guilds VRQ Level 3 (Vocational Related Qualification), QMT (Qualified Maintenance Technician), QST (Qualified System Technician). Together, these qualifications contribute to an Apprenticeship Framework, so you ll receive a certificate for this too (AMA from Mercedes-Benz)! Where will I be working? Mercedes-Benz Malaysia has Dealerships all across the country and therefore, if successful in the recruitment process, you will be placed as an apprentice at a site most suitable for you for your workplace training. You will attend the academy for the additional training aspects of your program. Where is the academy? How often will I go there? The academy is a purpose built Apprentice Training Centre at the Mercedes-Benz Head Office site in Puchong, Kinrara, Selangor. You will spend 4 week blocks here followed by 8 week blocks on the job at the dealer workshop where your Mentor will guide you with regular visits also from MB Malaysia. Will I be provided with accommodation? Accommodation is not provided by Mercedes-Benz Malaysia. However, we assist with arrangements and group living in the nearby areas. What if I get ill or have any problems when I am away from home? Mercedes-Benz Malaysia is committed to ensuring you feel as comfortable and confident as possible when you are away from home. Group personal accident insurance is provided and you will be assigned a trainer to support you during your time with us as well as on the job. What happens when I finish the program? All successful apprentices are invited to celebrate their achievement at a prestigious graduation event and some of you may even be recognized at the Apprentice of the Year Awards.

Still Interested? Below, we explain the application process. What qualifications do I need? An interest in the motor industry is essential and ideally you will have forecasted, or have achieved, minimum 3 credits in SPM or equivalent. All successful applicants will also be required to complete aptitude tests to help ensure the program can offer you the support you need. Face to face interviews will be conducted to ensure we recruit the best potential candidates nationwide. How do I apply? Submit online with a copy of your NRIC and latest high school result. You are also able to apply via walk-in at our dealer branches with an up to date CV & passport size photograph in hand. What happens with my application? Once applications have been reviewed, shortlisted applicants meeting the initial criteria will be contacted for aptitude testing. Applicants who progress through this stage will be invited to attend an interview which takes place in 5 regional locations. What do the assessments involve? First stage - The assessment consists of Mechanical and Technical Understanding Test (MTVT) as well as 5 aptitude tests Second stage - Candidates successfully passing the 1 st stage will attend a face to face interview When will I know my results from the assessments? Result from the assessments will be announce by 1 st week of June each year via phone and email. How long will the application process take? Vacancies are advertised from January onwards, intake is the first week of July each year. This may sound like a long time but don t worry, you will be kept informed of your progress on a regular basis throughout the process.
