The Run SAP Methodology Supporting End-to-End Solution Operation Standards The Run SAP methodology is the ASAP methodology for operations. A phased methodology based on world class knowledge, it provides best-practices procedures, content, services, training and tools for end-to-end solution operations along with a standardized and proven implementation method. The Run SAP methodology focuses on application management, business process operations and administration of SAP solutions. The methodology describes how support strategies should be implemented across the life cycle design, setup, operations, and optimization. And with its best practice documentation for solution operations, it describes how to implement end-to-end solution operations for different SAP software-based business processes. The Run SAP methodology enables the implementation of end-to-end operations. This methodology includes: The SAP standards for solution operations The road map of Run SAP to implement end-to-end solution operations A training and certification program Tools: including the SAP Solution Manager application management solution Support Services SAP standards for solution operations Each standard contains best-practice procedures on how to run the individual tasks, explanation on which tools within SAP Solution Manager should be used, and listings of available training and services that support the adoption of the standard. The road map for the Run SAP methodology guides you through defining the scope of the operations to be implemented, preparing a detailed plan, performing the necessary setup procedures, and running your SAP solution. Moreover, it helps you find the right strategy and tools to implement your end-to-end solution operations. The roadmap is in SAP Solution Manager as well as the SAP Service Marketplace extranet. 3
The Run SAP Implementation Partner Program Requirements and Benefits The Run SAP Implementation Partner Program will help facilitate certification for partner organizations and guide their resources to required training in the end-to-end solution operation standards. The training and certification will prepare the partner to adopt the Run SAP methodology into its SAP implementation standards. To participate, you must be an SAP Services Partner. Partners can work with their Active Global Support Partner Manager to determine what certification trainings are required and how many resources need to be certified in each training focus area. Suggested experience and prerequisites for the participants are: Experience with configuration and usage of Solution Manager (7.0 +) Experience with ABAP/Java based system management and administration Solid communication skills ability to present standards effectively, not just configure Experience with CRM a plus Experience with SAP Netweaver based systems and corresponding business processes. Applicants must be direct salary employees no contractors The certification focus areas, or what are referred to as role-based training, include such sessions as an overview of the Run SAP methodology, an overview of the Customer Center of Expertise, Solution Manager diagnostics and monitoring, change request management and business process monitoring. A certification exam is given at the end of each training. Passing participants are then recognized as SAP-certified support consultants. Partners must then strive for their organization to become certified in the Run SAP methodology. For partners to achieve this certification, the following requirements must be met: Partner must adopt the Run SAP methodology into their own SAP implementation methodology. Partners must present a business plan for the Run SAP methodology Partner must create their own Run SAP methodology practice, which requires a specific number of certified support consultants in each focus area based on global or local certification. Details on this can be found in the Run SAP Implementation Partner program guide. The location or country of a local SAP services partner is defined by where their SAP partnership agreement was executed. The Run SAP Implementation Partner program guide can be found on the SAP Partner portal at: http://partner.sap.com/runsapimplementationpartner. It is required that the minimum number of partner resources must pass the certification exam in order to become SAP-certified support consultants. This first step must be satisfied before the partner can proceed with the organizational 4
certification. The partner organization then must pass an audit based on the qualifications mentioned previously. Once your partner organization satisfies the requirements to become SAP-certified in the Run SAP methodology you will be able to use the official SAP certified in Run SAP implementation logo in your marketing collateral for the region or location in which you have been certified. Re-certification audits will be conducted every year to ensure compliance and assess customer references. The Run SAP implementation Partner Program will enable you to offer a high-value, strategic service to net-new and existing customers when you use the Run SAP methodology to assess and scope implementations. It will allow you to help your customers reduce their operating costs by creating standards and unification of processes, enabling greater operational efficiencies, creating more transparency in operations, mitigating risk and reducing costly downtimes. The Run SAP methodology will also foster the enablement of enterprise service-oriented architecture (enterprise SOA) readiness for customers.
