Duties include collecting, compiling, and analyzing data; preparing reports, records and correspondence summarizing data collected; preparing charts, maps, graphs and other visual presentations; and attending briefings and making oral and written presentations. A current vacancy exists in the Sheriff's Department. The list may also be used to fill positions in the Probation department, as needed. Page 2 of 5 1) Background Investigation: Applicants selected for this position must pass an extensive background investigation including fingerprinting, psychological testing and a polygraph test. 2) Work Hours: Incumbents may be required to work evening and weekend hours and may occasionally be on-call or on call-back status. 3) Travel: Incumbents may be required to travel throughout the County. Employees will be required to make provisions for transportation. At the time of hire, a valid California Class C driver license and proof of automobile liability insurance must be produced for the individual providing the transportation. 4) Work Schedule: Positions may be assigned to a schedule of less than full-time (80 hours) per two-week pay period. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Certificate: Possession of the California Department of Justice Crime and Intelligence Analysis Certificate (CCIA). Copy of certificate is required (attach to the application or submit by fax within 24 hours of application). - AND - Experience (one of the following): Option A: One (1) year of full-time equivalent work experience in which the primary duty was performing crime or intelligence analysis. Option B: Two (2) years of full -time equivalent work experience within a law enforcement, public safety, or criminal justice agency. Note: A bachelor s degree in Criminal Justice, Geographic Information Sciences, Public Administration, behavioral science, Statistics, Research Methodology, or a closely related field may substitute for up to one (1) year of the experience for Option B. Degree must be from an accredited college or university recognized by the US Department of Education. Qualifying experience and education will be at the discretion of Human Resources and must be clearly described on the application.
