2 1. BRAND, TECHNOLOGY & PRODUCT POSITIONING 1.1 A global success story As the world s best selling precision assembly glove, HyFlex empowers millions of workers to do their job more effectively, more comfortably and more safely on a daily basis. Since its inception, the original vision for the HyFlex brand - i.e. to empower workers with gloves that provide an ideal balance between safety, comfort and performance - has never wavered. In November 2011, HyFlex achieved a remarkable milestone: the sale of its 500 millionth pair of HyFlex gloves. Our 2012 new product launch remains true to this innovation tradition, with new-to-ansell and new-to-the-world solutions. 1. Brand, technology & product positioning A legacy of innovation The original HyFlex glove combined automated knitting technologies with nitrile foam palm coating in the revolutionary 11-800 HyFlex light duty assembly glove. 1998 Since its introduction in 1996, the HyFlex platform has been the showcase for leading performance technologies for the Ansell Industrial glove product line. 1996 2012 New HyFlex product versions in 2012, including ultralight and hybrid protection styles, maintain the HyFlex tradition of performance and innovation. In the early 2000s, Ansell brought engineered fiber to the platform, elevating the cut and abrasion resistance properties of the remarkably comfortable original 3D knitting design. 2000 2003 2006 2009 In 2008 HyFlex formalized a segmentation model for the range that matched HyFlex styles to explicit user needs according to their primary type of mechanical risk. Innovative Ansell Grip Technology and Zonz Knit Comfort Technology were introduced in the late 2000s, bringing advanced ergonomic performance to the Hyflex range. The introduction of the 11-618 the first HyFlex style to feature ultrafine gauge knitting for unprecedented comfort and sensitivity in precision work in the EMEA region UL

3 1.2 The premier glove range With the 2012 addition of new ultralight, light and medium duty styles, the HyFlex high-performance glove portfolio broadens and extends its application-specific offer. 1. Brand, technology & product positioning The HyFlex product line reflects our global research among safety officers, operations managers, purchasing agents and workers into their specific requirements and use of mechanical protection gloves. The research, which spanned industry segments and work environments, defined a mechanical protection glove platform that will readily accommodate new styles introducing advanced technologies and features to meet emerging workplace needs. New to the world HyFlex innovation This 2012 product introduction reinforces the core principles of HyFlex innovation - technical excellence and worker comfort - hallmarks of the HyFlex experience. The 11-518 new ultra light duty style brings the mechanical protection properties associated with heavier duty gloves to remarkably comfortable and light cut-resistant (EN Level 3, ANSI 2) and multi-purpose 18 gauge styles. Being first in the world! This reaffirms the value of the original Hyflex mission: protection without compromise, technological innovation and unparalleled comfort. 11-518 ULTRALIGHT DUTY CUT RESISTANT GLOVE

4 1.3 The story behind the 11-518 11-518 ULTRALIGHT DUTY CUT RESISTANT GLOVE 1. Brand, technology & product positioning Market Context Design Challenge Product Definition Launch Strategy Studies conducted by Ansell to define unmet user needs in the industrial hand protection sector have showed a clear desire by workers for lighter weight cut resistant gloves that imply no compromise in either cut protection or performance. The same research documented workers who trade off protection for dexterity and tactility by removing their gloves to carry out more dexterous tasks, others who modify gloves by removing finger tips or making other alterations, and those who wear heavier, protective styles at the expense of the precision work their jobs require. Our objective for the 11-518 was to build on the successful launch of our 18 gauge multi-purpose glove (11-618) by incorporating cut resistant fibers that would add additional mechanical protection properties to the glove performance. The goal was an ultralight duty glove that could provide the barehand sensation that workers prefer with the same degree of cut and abrasion protection they have expected light and medium duty gloves, or heavier Kevlar-based styles, to provide. The soft, ultralight liner in the 11-518 combines light, strong Dyneema Diamond Technology fiber with a soft blend of nylon/ spandex fibers. Knitted to 18 gauge tolerances with Ansell 3D knitting technologies, the glove combines the soft/strong profile of Dyneema Diamond cut-resistant fibers with the ultralight fit and feel that workers prefer. The resulting lightweight efficiency glove brings EN cut level 3 (ANSI cut level 2) protection to workers whose jobs also require high dexterity and tactility. The 11-518 liner provides cut protection on a par with much heavier cut-resistant synthetic or Kevlar-based styles. The PU coating delivers EN abrasion level 3 (ANSI level 3) performance for long life and also protects workers hands from pass-through dirt. The ultralight, breathable fabric offers unparalleled worker comfort, encouraging more consistent glove use. Meanwhile, the gloves high dexterity and tactility ultimately improve the efficiency of teams working with small, sharp, dry parts.

Ultralight Cut Protection 11-518 ULTRALIGHT, BREATHABLE, CUT RESISTANT GLOVE Best in class, lightweight with a breathable, barehand-like feel. The 11-518 belongs to a nextgeneration of HyFlex styles that bring legendary HyFlex performance to an ultralight duty style with a barehand-like sensation of tactility and dexterity. This best-in-class combination of ultra lightweight 18 gauge comfort and EN cut level 3 performance is made possible by a unique combination of engineered materials. The soft, strong liner features Dyneema Diamond Technology fibre. Lightweight and breathable, it ventilates the back of the hand for all day comfort. A resilient PU coating contributes to the high cut scores, but also delivers EN abrasion level 3 performance for extended glove life. For the precision handling and assembly of sharp, dry, ultra-fine parts, the light weight 11-518 style provides unprecedented comfort, dexterity and protection. Superior cut protection As the best-in-class glove to provide EN cut level 3 protection in an ultra lightweight 18 gauge style, the 11-518 brings a new degree of dexterity to applications with cut risks. Ultimate comfort Soft, sheer Dyneema Diamond fibre breathes to keep hands cool and dry and moves freely with motion of the hand for a more comfortable fit. Thin and tough coating The thin PU coating enables high tactility while contributing to achieving EN cut level 3 and EN abrasion level 3, which extend glove life without restricting the movement of coated surfaces. Worker preference In field trials the 11-518 was preferred by nearly 70% of workers now using heavier gloves for similar tasks, a comfort preference that correlates with compliance. Key features 18 gauge seamless liner Enhanced flexibility (range of motion) and tactility (fingertip sensitivity).
