It is our job to protect it. If this guide is used properly, it will help us communicate our mission to the rest of the student body using one unified voice. Like any organization asset, our logo and brand needs to be protected. We can all help by adhering to these guidelines to ensure its consistent representation of the ASWU. BRAND GUIDELINES ASSOCIATED STUDENTS OF WHITWORTH UNIVERSITY 3 Typography Our primary fonts are Minion Pro, Avenir, and Myriad Pro. These fonts or similar fonts should always be used when creating ASWU sponsored documents. Similar Replacements: Minion Pro: Times New Roman Avenir Book: Helvetica Neue Regular Myriad Pro (& Bold): Arial & Arial Black Special Fonts Special fonts are allowed as they inspire creativity for online and print advertisements. While using special fonts, keep in mind all online and print advertisements must be following the rest of the brand guideline and look professional. This includes words like today and tomorrow. Headings and subheadings should only be bolded in posters and ads.
BRAND GUIDELINES ASSOCIATED STUDENTS OF WHITWORTH UNIVERSITY 4 Logos The logos of the Associated Students of Whitworth University are a critical asset to ASWU as an organization. Throughout the logo section, this guide will outline the correct and incorrect uses of the ASWU logos. Primary Whitworth Logo Any publicity that uses the Whitworth logo, in addition to or in lieu of the ASWU logo, must be reviewed and approved by Whitworth University Communications. Secondary Spacing In order to keep the logos looking clean, distance the logo away from other text, logos, icons, or borders, at least one A letter width away. See graphics below for an example.

BRAND GUIDELINES ASSOCIATED STUDENTS OF WHITWORTH UNIVERSITY 6 Mobile App Icon Spacing A A AA The app icon should always be placed on a white, black, or gray background. Icons should not be placed with a box or border around them. Example boxes are meant to represent colors of posters or backgrounds only. Special requests of different uses can be granted by a case by case basis. In order to keep the app icon looking clean, distance the icon away from other text, logos, or borders, at least two A letters away. See graphic for an example. Official Description The ASWU Events app allows students to be connected with the happenings of campus events. With push notifications, the student body can be notified instantly when a deal goes live. BRAND GUIDELINES ASSOCIATED STUDENTS OF WHITWORTH UNIVERSITY 7 Posters & Ads Posters and online advertisements are an important way ASWU announces events to the student body. Posters should always look professional, clean, and modern. Posters represent our brand, and going back to the Brand Guidelines mission, it is our job to protect its identity. Example of a Clean Poster/Ad Example of an Unclean Poster/Ad Time & Date Keeping the time and date consistent goes along with our brand mission. Here you will find two formats for displaying both the time and date of an event. Version A is to be preferred; however, if space prohibits Version A being used, then Version B may be used. Version A Time Date 9:00 AM Friday, February 23rd Version B 9 AM, 9:15 AM Fri, Feb. 23rd Redistribution When redistributing marketing materials, share the original high resolution version. Never save an image from social media sites, as that image was compressed. Use the share feature when possible.
BRAND GUIDELINES ASSOCIATED STUDENTS OF WHITWORTH UNIVERSITY 8 Colors ASWU s colors help us communicate in a unified voice in posters, ads, and in other aspects. Please respect our organization by using these colors when creating official ASWU documents. Our colors are inherited from Whitworth University s official primary colors. Primary Colors Along with fonts, other colors are encouraged to express creativity for poster and ad designs. See the Application page for examples. Hex #C22033 Hex #000000 Printing in black and white is acceptable when color printing cannot happen. Online Presence Facebook Events Events created on Facebook are to be created using the official Whitworth ASWU or an ASWU Media Facebook page. There should never be an instance when a Facebook event is created using a personal Facebook account. This provides privacy to the event planner, and ensures another level of professionalism. To have an event created, contact the Marketing & Public Relations Coordinator. Social Media Posts Social media posts should be short and concise.
