Position Impact The Regular Giving Lead delivers the CA s Mission through the priority areas of regular giving and direct Marketing. The Regular Giving portfolio includes developing effective approaches to recruiting, retaining and developing our Supporters through new and existing retention and Direct Marketing methodologies. The role will meaningfully impact CA by enhancing the Supporter experience in the Direct Marketing channels, maximising the Supporter s lifetime value to the Agency. This role contributes to the Agency s Sustainability strategies and the strategic objective of decreasing CA s reliance on government funding. This role will also oversee the day to day outcomes of a robust Regular Giving Strategy backed by an investment plan. Direct reports include: Regular Giving Coordinator Financially the role is responsible for income generation of $9.4 million through the Regular Giving Strategy and Direct Marketing. Primary Objectives /Job Environment Lead drive and implement the Regular Giving team s promotion of Caritas Australia s Mission through: Highly effective collaboration with the Fundraising, Supporter Services and Content and Digital teams to execute direct Marketing channels that stimulate and mobilise the Catholic and wider-australian community into awareness, action and giving that is strongly Issued: June 2016 Page: 1 of 6

supportive of CA s Mission. Optimise and deliver the Regular Giving Strategy, which is half way through a 5 year invested growth phase. Optimise Regular Giving and Direct Marketing strategic opportunities that consistently improve supporter acquisition and retention rates, supporter lifetime value and a greater return on investment for CA in the long term. Maximise short, medium and long term net-income streams from Regular Giving and Direct Marketing initiatives. Major Accountabilities Provide inspirational oversight, coordination, monitoring and evaluation of Regular Giving and Direct Marketing for CA. Develop and optimise strategies and operational plans for the acquisition and cultivation of individual supporters to Caritas Australia ensuring seamless transition from initial recruitment through to on-going tailored communication and retention programs to deliver on the KPI s of the Regular Giving Strategic Investment. Manage a budget of over $9M income to ensure that donations are generated cost effectively, ensuring funds are used to maximum profitability. Maintain focus on continuous improvements and enhancements to our Regular Giving and Direct Marketing strategies through monitoring trends, donor research, data analysis, profiling and interpretation, sourcing expertise such as CA s Business Intelligence Analyst and external Agencies. Build trustful relationships to inspire direct report to effectively collaborate, lead and manage self, team and achievement of outcomes; working with direct report to develop and implement their portfolio. Ensure team motivation and effect high level outcomes by developing methods for collaborative team engagement that overcome the challenges of dependent relationships with other Engagement and Sustainability (E&S) and CA teams. Collaborate with and support the Philanthropy team to optimise the number and value of bequests through managing central campaigns and Direct Marketing approaches to current and potential Supporters. Collaborate with Community Fundraising to deliver the Project Compassion Autumn Appeal. Actively engage with Digital and E&S teams from concept to execution in the development of seamless integrated approaches to CA s Customer/Supporter journey. Be the technical lead for key projects and CA initiatives for example, support and advise the Community Engagement team in generating new Supporters or other teams who may require advice with a Direct Marketing activity. Coordinate compliance and reporting, including data management and integrity, for all Regular Giving and Direct Marketing activities. Build and maintain effective relationships and cost management practices with suppliers to ensure highest quality services are provided by suppliers to CA. Apply effective stewardship and management practices by managing and monitoring the Regular Giving budget. Support CA and the Leadership Team through self and team mobilisation during Humanitarian Emergencies. The Regular Giving Lead is responsible for decisions in relation to: Direction in the development of external relationships. All decision making is in accordance with parameters set out in:- Caritas Australia Strategic Directions 2013 2018, Caritas Australia s Agency Operational Plan (AOP), Principles of Catholic Social Teachings, Relevant ACBC and Agency policies, guidelines and codes of practice applicable to the sector. Knowledge, Skills and Experience (selection criteria) The successful candidate will demonstrate and provide examples from their professional experience of the following essential skills: Essential Minimum 5 years demonstrated experience in building and implementing successful regular giving/direct Marketing strategies and programmes preferably from services industry environments. Extensive experience of being responsible for devising, implementing and managing multimillion dollar income and expenditure budget that includes experience devising and implementing major campaigns to mass audience. Minimum 3 years proven experience in a supervisory role, inspiring, growing, managing, mentoring and developing a team within service environments. Proven ability in developing excellent customer relationships through the effective use of technologies. Demonstrates how working with key team members and stakeholders, internal and external, has contributed to improved outcomes and trustful relationships. Practical approach to team building and growth with a can do attitude; able to inspire and collaboratively facilitate cross-group initiatives. Extensive experience in concurrently managing projects, and business as usual activities. Proven applied knowledge in the use of analytics, data and databases for Regular Giving and Direct Marketing purposes. An understanding of and willingness to work within the Catholic ethos.
