Boosting innovation and enhancing the human and social capital in rural areas The objective is to support sustainable growth by encouraging innovation. This involves two main strands of activities: 1) strengthening the skills, human and social capital of farmers, foresters and rural dwellers by improving cooperation, knowledge transfer and networking; 2) investing into the knowledge and innovation systems to improve their delivery. In particular, support to the implementation of the EIP- AGRI "interactive innovation approach" will be provided. Horizon 2020 SC-2 10

Circular Bioeconomy Thematic Investment Platform (risk-sharing financial instrument) 1. The bioeconomy could significantly contribute to meeting the EU priorities on growth and climate as well as some of the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), if innovative technologies, processes and business models are developed and deployed. One of the key success factors behind such development and deployment is access to finance. 2. An InnovFin Advisory study has identified funding gaps in two key areas of the bioeconomy the bio-based industries and the blue economy when projects are about to enter the demonstration or commercial phases. 3. The Circular Bioeconomy Thematic Investment Platform aims at providing access to finance, in particular in the form of debt or quasi-equity, to innovative bioeconomy projects and focuses in priority, but not exclusively, on innovative circular bioeconomy projects. 11
