Vishal Agrawal- Georgetown University Associate Professor of Operations and Information Management McDonough Shool of Business Vishal Agrawal is Associate Professor of Operations and Information Management at the McDonough School of Business, Georgetown University. His research interests include sustainable operations, new product development and supply chain management. His research focuses on managerial challenges at the interface of business and the environment. He is also interested in the effect of consumer behavior on operations and new product development strategies. His research has appeared in leading journals such as Management Science and M&SOM, and has received several awards including the Management Science Best Paper in Operations Management Award (2015), Paul Kleindorfer Award in Sustainability (2016), and the INFORMS ENRE Young Researcher Award (runner up 2014). Robert Cadieux Pratt & Whitney Canada Environment and Sustainable Development Manager EH&S corporate team Robert Cadieux is passionate about the effective, sustainable incorporation of social and environmental concerns into companies decision-making processes. Robert firmly believes that a company can redefine itself so its role extends beyond simply not harming the environment, to drawing inspiration from it as an example of what works effectively and sustainably. Robert has been working for large aerospace and aeronautics companies for more than 25 years. His position with Pratt & Whitney Canada as Manager and Fellow, environment and sustainable development has afforded him an opportunity to supervise the environment and sustainable development teams that support all of the company s facilities, which are staffed by almost 10,000 employees in some ten countries worldwide. Douglas Christensen Boeing ecodemonstrator Program Leader Environmental Performance Associate Technical Fellow Doug Christensen is an Associate Technical Fellow and the Test Vehicle Program Manager for the Boeing Company s ecodemonstrator technology demonstration vehicles. He has overall responsibilities for the flight demonstration aircraft acquisition, technology demonstrations, and external ecodemonstrator program activities. Prior to his ecodemonstrator role, Doug was the technology leader for NLF wing and winglet design/build, as well as the CO2 and Emissions Strategy Leader within Boeing Commercial Airplanes Product Development. He also leads the development and maintenance for all of BCA s environmental technology development. Doug s background is in configuration design and analysis and spent 15 years as an Aerodynamics Configuration Engineer in Product Development and as an Airplane Configurator in Configuration and Engineering Analysis. His most recent experience within Environmental Performance was as the Strategy Leader for CO2 and Emissions within Boeing Commercial Airplanes Product Development. He also leads the development and maintenance for all of BCA s environmental technology development. Christensen also worked for Northwest Airlines as a Senior Performance Engineer for 5 years where he was involved in the integration of new aircraft into their fleet and developed numerous fuel burn reduction processes for them. He joined Boeing in 1987 after graduation from Iowa State University where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Aerospace Engineering. GARDN Greener Aviation Conference 2016 11
Julien Dezombre - Bombardier Aerospace Ecodesign specialist Julien Dezombre received a Master s degree in Chemical Engineering from the École Supérieure de Chimie Organique et Minérale, in France, in 2003. He then joined Airbus to participate to the implementation of an environmental management system under ISO14001. He also contributed to a demonstration project for the end-oflife of aircraft. In 2009 he joined the Aerospace Ecodesign and Environmental Affairs team of Bombardier. At Bombardier, Julien is managing initiatives, that includes participation to Research and Development projects with academics and other industrials partners, to integrate the Eco-Design and the Life-Cycle thinking in aircraft development.
