Saratoga SIL3004 Silicone Sealant Techical Data Sheet Universal Anti-mould Saratoga SIL3004 is an acetic one-component silicone sealant, that cures quickly thanks to the atmospheric humidity, creating extremely elastic and adhesive seals. Saratoga SIL3004 has excellent resistance to atmospheric agents, UV rays, industrial and domestic cleansers, and thinned acids and bases. It has been specially formulated for common uses, easy works, to seal door and window frames, glasses, assembling and for general sealings. Do not use for hard works such as large glass windows or glass or aluminium panels. It is recommended on non-porous surfaces such as: glass, ceramic, aluminium, steel, some plastic materials, wood and varnished supports. APPLICATION FIELDS SIL3004 Universal Silicone Sealant is used for sealing door and window frames, glasses, watertight electrical systems, lighting equipment and glass greenhouses. SIL3004 Anti-mould Silicone Sealant is used for sealing door and window frames, glasses, bathrooms, shower glasses, kitchens, sanitary ware, watertight electrical systems, lighting equipment and glass greenhouses. APPLICATION All surfaces must be clean, compact, dry and degreased. It is recommended to use a masking tape on both sides of the joint for a better result (remove right after application). Cut the nozzle at the desired diameter. Apply using a standard sealant gun or a compressed air one. Cannot be painted, therefore paint before applying. Apply at the bottom of the gap some insulation material (such as adhesive tape); with deep gaps, fill with some fill-up material (such as Saratoga Joint Filler or expanded plastic). Clean surfaces and tools within 10 minutes with a clean cloth wetted with solvent or Saratoga Via Sil Fresco. When cured, clean with Saratoga Via Sil Indurito. STORAGE AND SHELF LIFE Between +20 and +25 C its shelf life is 24 months since manufacturing date. PRIMER A primer is not needed on glass, ceramic and, usually, wood, metal, and most plastic materials. For particular or exceptional adhesions, it is recommended to run some tests and, in case, use Saratoga Primer CLS with porous backings, or Saratoga Primer PM with metals and plastic materials. LIMITATIONS Do not use on porous backings; use Saratoga Neutral Silicone Sealant U.S.A. White series for Metal Sheets or for Building Industries. Do not use to bond mirrors; use Saratoga Neutral Silicone Sealant U.S.A. White Series for Mirrors. Do not use in aquaria or large glass windows; use Saratoga Universal Silicone Sealant. NOTE When curing, it exhales a small quantity of acetic acid. Therefore, ensure to ventilate your working environment. Irritating to eyes and skin. In case of contact, wash with a lot of water and consult your doctor.
