COMPETENCIES FOR PROFESSIONALISM IN BIZKAIA Bizkaia:talent will lead the Pilot Programme Competencies for Professionalism in Bizkaia, a pioneering programme in the State which will be coordinated by the Association Bilbao Metropoli 30 with the collaboration of BasquePro (Association of Basque Professional Associations, in particular, the Basque Association of Economists, the Basque Association of Chemists and Chemical Engineers and the Basque Association of Engineers). PARTICIPANTS Twenty students per year from each of the following: Faculty of Science and Technology of the University of the Basque Country (EHU/UPV), Deusto Business School from the University of Deusto, Goi Eskola Politeknikoa (Engineering) from the University of Mondragon, bizkaia:talent. OBJECTIVE Within the strategy of laying the foundations for a professionalism movement based on the person to take shape, propose strategies, develop them and monitor the results so as to achieve the goals set to promote and to work on the value of professionalism in the Basque Country and also to make our companies more productive, innovative and competitive. Professionalism is to be understood as a whole, considering not only the knowledge-related qualities but also the attitudes and the values of the person. Basically, it involves ensuring that the personal targets of the students are aligned with their professional targets and that the latter are in keeping with the structure and the context of the labour market and with its requirements for profiles such as the one selected by the person.
COMPETENCIES FOR PROFESSIONALISM IN BIZKAIA PHASES OF THE PROGRAMME PHASE I Defining the professional and personal target PHASE II Competencies, attitudes and transversal skills PHASE III Advice from professional experience l This initiative aims at providing professional accompaniment for the development of talent in Bizkaia, in view of their common interest in achieving the early detection and the development of talent in our Territory. ACADEMIC YEAR 2014/2015: In order to offer university students personalized accompaniment for them to develop the transversal skills which are now being demanded by the labour market, and considering the importance of values, attitudes and skills, which are nowadays rated higher than the know-how itself, 20 students will be selected from each of the Universities which take part in the programme. To carry out the selection of the candidates, the assessment and weighting criteria will be the following: (50%) Academic Record; (35%) Personal Interview 14th and 15th July; (10%) Internet Profile (Talentous); (5%) Motivation Letter.
COMPETENCIES FOR PROFESSIONALISM IN BIZKAIA PHASES OF THE PROGRAMME PHASE 1: DEFINING THE PROFESSIONAL AND PERSONAL TARGET Introductory Workshop: Raising awareness about the importance of incorporating a strategic planning culture to visualize where one wants to be in the future and analyze the lines of development. Personalized Coaching: Each person will have two blocks with two individual working sessions in which they will examine the coherence between their intended goal and targets and their principles and values. The aim is to align the targets with the real wishes and expectations of the person, testing their coherence and alignment. PHASE 2: COMPETENCIES WORKSHOPS Results orientation Emotional intelligence and self-knowledge Planning, organization, strategy and process improvement Ethics, integrity and values Innovation, analysis and adaptation to change Leadership, teamwork, communication and decision-making Client-orientation and negotiation Group Workshop: Analyzing the developments and the perception of those involved so as to create links around a common project. PHASE 3: ADVICE FROM PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE The Professional Associations will offer accompaniment of a mainly technical nature.
