Reliably high yields. In practice, this is what it all depends on.» What does a module have to be able to do in order to be perfect? It has to generate high yields. Over a long period. Ultimately, the important thing is reliable power generation over many years. Since the investment in a solar energy system has to be economically worthwhile.

At Conergy, we know what we are talking about: Across the globe, every tenth module is manufactured, sold or installed by us. And we place the highest demands on ourselves: to get the most out of the sun. The solar module takes on an important key role. This is where electricity is generated. What remains unused here cannot be compensated for by even the most intelligent system planning. And thus, the idea was born to develop the perfect module ourselves. And we have succeeded. We have thought about every detail. For maximum durability.» We only work with the best. The cells the heart of every module and the module frames are manufactured internally by Conergy. We procure glass and films from well-known international manufacturers that we have trusted as our partners for many years. The rear-ventilated connection box, developed jointly with our suppliers, comes from Switzerland. We use only high-quality polyurethane as electrical insulation. And instead of silicone, a special adhesive tape connects the glass solar cell laminate with the module frame. This ensures high strength and durability. All components are carefully selected and attuned to one another. The result: high yields and maximum durability. For the perfect module is achieved only if individual components are of the highest quality and processes are optimally attuned to these components. The construction type used in Conergy PowerPlus modules is certified in line with the international standards IEC/EN 61215 ed. 2 (tests quality, durability and reliability of modules) and IEC/EN 61730 (tests electrical and mechanical safety). We are convinced of the quality of our product. For that reason, we offer a particularly high level of warranty: 5 year product warranty; can be extended to 10 year on request 12 year performance warranty 1 (92 % of the minimum module output from installation)* 25 year performance warranty 2 (80 % of the minimum module output from installation) * The unusually high performance warranty applies to our particularly high-performance Conergy PowerPlus modules with 225 Wp and above.

Pressure specialist: Loads up to 5,400 pascal per square metre can be borne by the module. That corresponds to a load of 550 kg per square metre the weight of a full-grown dromedary. Endurance runner: robust materials and high-quality processing of the waterproof, fully-sealed connection box ensure high safety levels and durability. The extra plus: the passively-cooled 3 bypass diodes ensure perfect operating statuses even in unfavourable environmental conditions, such as partial shade over the module. This, too, increases the long yield period. High performer: The highly-efficient 3 busbar cells indicate an optimised cell design and innovative technology. Ongoing minor improvements in cell production help get the best out of the silicon material. Yield optimiser: The structured, 4 mm-thick solar glass has a high degree of transparency and low reflection. Even the invisible part of the light is used effectively. The maximum amount of sunlight is conducted into the cells, ensuring maximum yields. All-weather professional: even under snow loads, wind pressure and temperature fluctuations the warp-resistant frame is unaffected by even the most extreme conditions. Designed without cavities, it makes frost damage impossible. Special screws ensure a lasting galvanic connection and, therefore, electrical safety. The special beading reduces shadows from dirt deposits on the glass.

No compromises in production. No compromises in quality.» From silicon block to finished module all processes in our hands. Processes that are perfectly attuned to one another can only be reached by the quickest paths, like those found in our fully-integrated production. Frankfurt (Oder) is home to one of the most modern production facilities in the world for solar modules. The value creation chain is fully automatic and fully integrated, and runs through five production lines under one roof from the silicon base material through the wafer and the cell, to the finished module. In wafer production, the silicon blocks are prepared for wafer sawing: cleaning, grinding, sticking to glass and mounting plates everything is absolutely precise and fully automated. From the silicon block to the wafer: a job for 120-micrometre thick wire twice as thick as a hair. Moistened with "slurry", the separating agent, 8 kilometres of wire work in parallel in the saw during the separation process. The result: 180-micrometre thick wafer. In cell production, the heart of our module is produced. Nine processes, attuned to one another exactly, continually change the wafer: the power-generating cell is produced. The printing process gives it its characteristic design with the 3 busbars and conducting grid. The integrated Conergy logo makes our cells unmistakable.

Our engineers in the technology department check and test the modules, including their components, extensively. In line with standardised test procedures, they subject the modules to extreme temperature fluctuations (-40 to +85 C) and high humidity in climate chambers. Precise characterisation of the cells and modules leads to ongoing improvements in our production. In addition, quality tests are constantly performed alongside production in our laboratories, for this is the only way that we can maintain and continue to improve our high quality standards. As soon as the connection box has been installed, it is tested: A flasher determines the module's performance data. The most important process in module generation: laminating the cells with glass to form a composite. Two ethylene vinyl acetate (EVA) films are made crystal clear using pressure and temperature, and fix the cells on the glass. Together with the frame, this gives rise to one solid unit that ensures durability for the module. In module production, the individual cells are soldered together. First into cell chains (known as strings), then connected crosswise into a cell matrix. This process is also fully-automated at Conergy, which guarantees consistent quality.

Our systems generate high yields. And high returns for you. El Calaverón is located in the sunny region of Castilla- La Mancha. The project stretches over an area of 100 hectares, which is equivalent to more than 100 football pitches. Up to 96,000 polycrystalline solar modules, which are installed on double-axis tracking systems from Conergy, will produce roughly 40,000 MWh clean electricity annually to approximately 12,500 households. In addition, the power plant will save 39,000 tonnes of environmentally harmful CO 2 gas. The construction time took less than one year up to the time of conclusion.
