Trainee Maintenance Technician The Trainee Maintenance Technician performs aircraft maintenance tasks under supervision, and in accordance with organisational procedures and safety precautions as specified. He/she assists the team leader to ensure all housekeeping tasks and requirements are maintained. The Trainee Maintenance Technician also attends classroom and practical lessons as required, and sits for the requisite qualifying knowledge and practical tests. General Worker/Operator The General Worker/Operator performs housekeeping tasks to meet the organisational requirements on ensuring work space efficiency and effectiveness. He/she takes instructions from his section lead and performs all general duties as required. Store Assistant The Store Assistant is responsible for updating stock levels in the inventory data system. He/she is aware of the importance of inventory control and maintains adequate stock levels to avoid overstocking and obsolescence/aged lots. He is conversant with the store layout, rotates stock in accordance with organisational guidelines to avoid wastage, and ensures handling and storage meet the required standards. The Store Assistant ensures all areas of the stores are clean and tidy at all times. Technician (Component Repair and Overhaul - Mechanical) The Technician (Component Repair and Overhaul - Mechanical) performs maintenance, disassembles, inspects, repairs and overhauls, reassembles and tests aircraft systems and components, in accordance with relevant technical manuals and quality standards. He/she prepares system components in accordance with technical instructions and takes appropriate corrective actions to restore them to the required performance. The Component Repair and Overhaul Technician is also a technical resource person in the analysis of system failures when required. He keeps abreast of latest developments of related systems by updating himself through relevant manuals and other publications. He may also be authorised by the organisation to perform quality control and assist in Non-destructive Testing functions in accordance with organisational procedures. Control: He inspects parts received (from suppliers) for conformity to specifications as stated using CMM and/or manual gages required for accurate inspection checks and registers non-conformity as required. He monitors and ensures smooth flow of parts for inspection to avoid bottlenecks. He also maintains the organisation s technical library. He receives, inspects and documents incoming materials, spares and components, ensures specification conformity and proper storage in accordance to organisational requirements. He also performs despatch inspection, packs, prepares shipping documents and arranges delivery with transport companies to send the serviced items to their respective owners. Non-destructive Testing (Level 1): He maintains all non-destructive test equipment at their required functionality to perform the tests specified in the works instructions. He prepares and determines the acceptance of surface condition of parts and components prior to conducting the appropriate tests. He also liaises with engineering, inspection and other personnel as required to assist in researching and solving Non-destructive Testing process problems. Control: He inspects parts received (from suppliers) for conformance to specifications and registers non-conformity as required. He monitors and ensures smooth flow of parts for inspection to avoid bottlenecks. He also maintains the organisation s technical library. He/she submits warranty claims to Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEMs) and resolves disputes in consultation with various departments as required. The Planning Assistant also engages in continuous process improvement and participates in problem-solving teams with internal departments in the organisation. Senior Technician (Component Repair and Overhaul - Mechanical) The Senior Technician (Component Repair and Overhaul - Mechanical) supervises a team of technicians to investigate faults and failures of related systems, and proposes appropriate remedial actions to restore them to required working order. He mentors and conducts training for trainee technicians of the same trades and also engages in continuous process improvement initiatives. He/she may also be authorised by the organisation to perform quality control/assurance and Non-destructive Testing functions in accordance with organisational procedures. (Fulfil Part SAR-145.35 and AC 145-2(3) requirement) Control/Assurance: He supervises the visual inspection of all deliveries in accordance with stipulated inspection procedures to ensure compliance with the purchase and repair requirements, and ensures that non-conformance reports are filed when required. He conducts audits to ensure that all repair work done on systems and components is in accordance with the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) and organisation s prescribed procedures and standards, and ensures that nonconformances are tracked and actions are taken to rectify them. He also assists in tool and equipment calibration, process reviews and supports continuous improvement process and initiatives. Non-destructive Testing (Level 2): He performs visual inspection and non-destructive testing of welds, forgings, casting and machined parts in accordance with organisational procedures, customers requirements and other contractual documents, and maintains accurate records of all inspection activities. He ensures that all Non-destructive Testing is carried out in accordance with quality standards as stated in respective manuals and also ensures compliance with the environmental and health safety standards. Senior Technician (Component Repair and Overhaul - Avionics) The Senior Technician (Component Repair and Overhaul - Avionics) supervises a team of technicians to investigate faults and failures of related systems, and proposes appropriate remedial actions to restore them to required working order. The Senior Technician (Component Repair and Overhaul - Avionics) mentors and conducts training for trainee technicians of the same trades, and also engages in continuous process improvement. He/she may also be authorised by the organisation to perform quality control/assurance functions in accordance with organisational procedures. Senior Planning Executive The Senior Planning Executive analyses contractual agreements, formulates maintenance plans through consultation with customers as appropriate, generates rolling forecast, and evaluates advanced costing processes and procedures to resolve issues and support activities. He/she generates performance reports and data to monitor/validate the maintenance progress. The Senior Planning Executive drives changes and continuous improvement using work improvement methodology to bring the organisation to the required standards. He drives continuous improvements on maintenance tasks for on-time delivery and man-hour savings, and develops strategies and priorities for critical customer issues. He participates in problem-solving, leads in regular reviews with key suppliers and establishes best practices on process improvements to enhance productivity. The Senior Planning Executive is also responsible for developing and conducting training for new hires.
