Why has the Standard been developed? Over 7000 workers die each day from work-related accidents or diseases - 2.78 m each year. Costs estimated at 4% of Global GDP through loss of production, early retirements, staff absence and rising insurance premiums. To combat the problem, ISO has developed a new standard ISO 45001 Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems. The Final Ballot stage ended on 25 January 2018. Structure is a generic management system, such as ISO 14001 and ISO 9001. It is an Integrated Management System. It takes into account BSI s OHSAS 18001 and the International Labour Organization's ILO-OSH Guidelines.
What are the changes between DIS2 and FDIS 45001? Resulting from 1600 comments the PC283 recommended editorial and technical changes. If a technical change is made an FDIS is required. What is a technical change? This is a change of requirement or meaning in the standard. For instance worker definition application has a minor change. As a result the FDIS has to be approved in a ballot, before the standard can be published.
