Programme Manager Recruitment Job Description The Brokerage Citylink is an employer led charity which works with inner London young people to raise their aspirations, increase their workplace skills and knowledge and give them access to opportunities in the financial and business services sector. We are seeking to take on a Recruitment Manager to work on our recruitment programmes which include; The City of London Business Traineeships (CBT), which we deliver on behalf of the City of London. The CBT programme works through local schools to raise awareness of the career opportunities in the City and matches bright and ambitious school and college leavers with City-type firms for paid summer work placements of between 6-13 weeks. Bespoke employers programmes such as the Royal Bank of Canada Academy, which selects ambitious students from selected inner London schools and supports them from Year 12 to graduation with work experience, bursaries, mentoring and skills development activities The City Careers Programme, which keeps undergraduates in contact with the City through events and regular updates about internship and job opportunities A-level and graduate recruitment services, which give City employers access to our pool of diverse, local young talent Our Alumni Programme, which maintains contact with young people who have benefitted from our programmes and are now working in the City About the Brokerage The Brokerage provides a pathway of experiences and opportunities to City careers for young people who have attended inner London State Schools. Main Duties: To deliver a high quality placement/vacancy service to employers which will meet their recruitment needs. Build excellent working relationships through maintaining regular contact and secure future placements/vacancies. To match A-level students to appropriate vacancies, placements and internship opportunities. To visit schools and colleges and deliver presentations and interactive workshops to introduce sixth formers to the opportunities presented by the City, and invite them to apply for jobs and internships To establish working relationships with schools, colleges and other agencies ensuring procedures for referral of students and graduates are constantly maintained. Maintaining on going student relationships through schools visits, telephone contact, email, the Brokerage s websites and other social networking media to ensure there is a pool of students with relevant skills available. To provide individual support to A-level students, under graduates and graduates including CV preparation, pre interview support, completion of application forms and covering letters. Providing guidance, careers advice, assessment of IT skills levels and one-to-one support for students as required. To prepare and deliver Workshops/Master Class sessions for all ages of students, involving active liaison with City employers and personnel practitioners and voluntary sector partners. To maintain up to date student records on our CRM system including regular monitoring of their progress and providing case studies where applicable. To ensure all administrative tasks necessary for the smooth running of the Brokerage and for monitoring/evaluation purposes are undertaken on a regular basis. To provide regular information reports and updates for the Brokerage Senior Management Team, Board of Trustees and funders. To play an active role in the planning and delivery of the Brokerage s strategic objectives and participate in Brokerage events and activities as required. To undertake other duties as your line manager deems appropriate. 3

Client Focus Anticipate and respond to the needs of clients including City employers and recruitment agencies to deliver a high quality, professional service, candidates, teachers, and young people from inner city state schools, Organisation and Planning Ability to define goals and constantly meet key milestones and targets throughout the programme cycle. Communication Desirable Business Awareness & Strategic Planning Awareness of the current market the Brokerage is operating within and factors which may impact on the business such as changes in government policy and issues around diversity and social mobility. 4
Ability to communicate effectively to a wide range of Brokerage contacts including City employers, teachers, students and external funding agencies. Able to deliver presentations to groups and organise training sessions and seminars. Commitment to the Brokerage s aims and approaches Technical Information Technology Experience of using Microsoft Office packages (Word, Excel, Outlook) Experience of using a database to manage contacts. Extensive administrative experience gained from a professional working environment. Previous experience of providing information, advice & guidance and a knowledge of recruitment practices.
