How to Use is used in a galaxy of Industries and will be harnessed as fuel in the future. Industrial Uses Optical Fiber Iron manufacturing Semiconductor Solar panel Energy Uses Residential fuel cell Petroleum refining/ Petrochemical Expanding hydrogen uses Power generation Ammonia FCV Metallurgy Fuel for rocket Electronic-component 1

How to Produce We have two methods of producing hydrogen: by-product hydrogen and generating hydrogen. will be additionally harnessed as fuel in the future. We will also consider large-scale procurement of CO 2 -free hydrogen produced overseas. By-product By-product hydrogen is produced in chemical industries. Generating Generating hydrogen by steam reforming of natural gas. CO 2 -free CO 2 -free hydrogen is produced by electrolysis of water using renewable electricity, or refined from fossil fuel with CCS. 2

Iwatani s Industries: Business Structure and Core Strengths Iwatani has 70% of the hydrogen market share in Japan. Our strength is providing the technology that connects demand with hydrogen sources. Sources Procurement Value Chain Production Sells Deliver Storage Demand -rich gas from chemical industries Production Delivery Industrial uses Energy uses Refining Gas Natural gas Reforming, Refining Liquid Market Share 70% The technology to connect demand with hydrogen sources. A huge market share 3

Iwatani s Industries Iwatani first handled hydrogen in 1941. We have regarded hydrogen as the ultimate clean energy source since then, and have consistently engaged in hydrogen-related initiatives. 1941 Iwatani began selling hydrogen. 1958 Established Osaka Industries Co.,Ltd. 1960 Developed the original hydrogen trailer, the first commercially available product of its kind in Japan. 1978 Iwatani Way Initiated operations at Japan s first commercial liquid hydrogen plant. 2002 Completed Japan s first hydrogen station. 2005 Began sales of Residential LPG-powered Fuel Cell 2006 Organized first Energy Forum in Tokyo. 2006 Began operations at Hydro Edge Co.,Ltd., Japan s first full-scale hydrogen liquefaction plant. 2009 Began operations at the second hydrogen liquefaction plant in Chiba. 2011 Signed up for the Kitakyushu Town project. 2013 Began operations at the third hydrogen liquefaction plant in Yamaguchi. 2014 Japan s First Commercial Station Opened. Iwatani Refueling Station in Amagasaki Sales of Industries Whole company Industrial Gases & Machinery Division 166 billion Industrial Gases & Machinery Division Industrial gases Industrial gases 89 billion ( billion) Net Sales 588 (FY2016) Net Sales 166 (FY2016) Net Sales 89 (FY2016) 4

Ultimate Clean Energy Source is the ultimate clean energy source. Inexhaustible energy Since hydrogen exists on earth in enormous quantities in water and other compounds, sources of supply are abundant. High power Calorific value (per unit weight) Range (per unit weight) Gasoline FCV x 2.7 x 5 Gas vehicle Clean energy Its only by-product is water when using fuel cell. * Fuel economy : FCV 100km/kg, Gas vehicle 15km/L * specific gravity of gas :0.75 energy storage Electricity can be converted into hydrogen by electrolysis. AIR (O 2 ) (H2) Fuel Cell Electricity Water (H2O) Electricity Fuel Cell is canned electricity. Electricity Water 5

A New Era of Power Pioneered by Iwatani Produce Deliver Use Strengthening of supply capabilities of liquid hydrogen Osaka 2 lines 3 lines Yamaguchi 1 line 2 lines Chiba 1 line Production capacity will be doubled in Nov. 2017 (Yamaguchi) 1.5 times in Jul. 2019 (Osaka) Overseas - Manufacturing Project Liquid hydrogen will be manufactured from Australian Brown coal supply chain form Australia to Japan will be built. LH2 market share 100% Compressed hydrogen gas Liquid Liquid hydrogen enables stable supply of hydrogen at low price Features of liquid hydrogen Transport efficiency 12 Liquid hydrogen High purity 99.9999 % Constructing and operating hydrogen refueling stations 22 hydrogen refueling stations have been built by FY2016.
