Interreg ADRION programme * European transnational programme for promoting cooperation and solidarity between 8 partner states * Main goal: act as a policy driver and governance innovator, fostering European integration among Partner States, taking advantage of their rich natural, cultural and human resources, as well as enhancing economic, social and territorial cohesion in the Adriatic and Ionian region. * Serving EUSAIR & Macro-Regional Strategies inter-relation and enhancement

Inter-Connect Project Programme priority Programme priority specific objective Project title LP Inter-Connect 3) Connected Region Enhance capacity for integrated transport and mobility services and multimodality in the Adriatic-Ionian area Intermodality Promotion and Rail Renaissance in Adriatic Ionian Region MUNICIPALITY OF IGOUMENITSA Project duration 1/1/2018-31/12/2019

Inter-Connect GOALS *Inter-Connect follows a bottom-up approach for making proof of actors cooperation for overcoming (legal, infrastructure and operational) barriers & providing improved rail-maritime based passengers intermodality. Through its 8 test cases it aims at: * Increasing efficiency and reduce environmental impact of transport systems * Improving public transport competitive profile * Facilitating the creation of synergies among transport operators * Creating more and better integrated rail services at local and transnational level * Reducing the declining modal share of railways * Supporting port hinterland connections by rail

Inter-Connect TARGET GROUPS TYPE of TARGET GROUP local public authority regional public authority national public authority sectoral agency infrastructure and (public) service provider interest groups including NGOs General public BENEFIT Increased capacities in sustainable mobility interventions adoption that are highly acceptable Based on the transnational character of Inter-Connect project, not only local authorities, but also regional authorities are among its target groups National public authorities will benefit from capacity building activities on intermodal and rail transport promotion Development agencies, Chambers, Tourist and Mobility Related agencies (maritime companies also) will have also the opportunity to upgrade their knowledge in sustainable and intermodal transport solutions Mobility providers, other service providers (e.g. railway and bus operators, port authorities), integrated authorities will have the opportunity to discuss and find out ways to develop cooperation schemes that will mutually support development Hotels, tour operators, travel agencies as well as private companies, schools, NGOs and other local associations related to mobility in general will benefit. (8 cases * 10) The general public will be reached through online awareness raising campaigns and through Cooperation Platform's supporting actions (8 cases * 10000)

Inter-Connect LOGIC Stakeholders involvement Intermodality enhancement and rail reform in ADRION Better interconnection of key players Intermodality promotion

Inter-Connect PILOTS Greek pilot the multimodal (PuT) connection of Thessaloniki to the Port of Igoumenitsa and the maritime connection to the rest Adriatic Ports Bologna s case; multimodal connection of Bologna to Ports of Rimini and Ravenna Croatian case; the improvement of railway connections from Zagreb to Croatian ports

Inter-Connect HŽ PP participation Area - case study Cooperation platform development Current status in the area multimodal transport Expected outcomes The area in Croatia -focus on railway lines ending in ports of Rijeka, Zadar, Split and Dubrovnik/Ploče. Most of tourist arrangements involving maritime transport to the southeast of Europe involve road transportation (buses) to Italian ports and then ships to Greece. The Croatian pilot would explore the possibility of this railway + maritime route, including travelling potential from Croatia and other surrounding countries gravitating to Adriatic Sea. The intention is to explore the possibility of facilitating faster and cheaper travel for tourist by connecting ADRION countries by innovative services.

Thank you for the attention On behalf of Inter-Connect partnership we promise to achieve the set goals!!! Helena.Luketic@hzpp.hr Renato.Humic@hzpp.hr INTERREG ADRION PROGRAMME Inter-Connect Project Priority Axis 3: Connected Region http://www.adrioninterreg.eu teliskar@gmail.com myrovali@certh.gr
