PayBySky FAQs 1. Where can I get a Skymeter? Call 1-888-237-7077 ext. 400. An account will be set up and a meter will be express delivered to you. 2. How do I install the meter? Find the OBD port, connect the cable, safely tuck the cable out of sight, push the suction cups on the meter onto the glass of your windshield (be sure you can see the LED which tells you whether the meter is paying for parking or not (this is based on the colour and the flicker speed of the LED). 3. Can someone install the meter for me? Is there an extra cost for that? PayBySky can arrange to have your meter installed at the user s cost. Contact us at the number provided in your package or the number above. 4. Will installation of the meter into the OBD port damage my vehicle? No. 5. If a car service mechanic unplugs the meter from the OBD port, what is the procedure to re- insert it again? Simply reinsert it. The meter will reboot when powered on and will be ready for service in a few seconds. 6. Is there any software setup required when the device is installed? Yes. In addition to the physical installation of the meter, you must register your device and pair it with your license plate, VIN number and your payment method at www.mypaybysky.com. The Skymeter reads the VIN number each time the car is started. If the Skymeter is moved to another vehicle and the VIN number is not registered, it will not operate and pay for parking. This will be indicated by the LED flashing Orange. It is imperative that you register the VIN number and license plate pairing prior to using the device in any vehicle. The payment method for the Calgary Parking Authority parking is your ParkPlus account. 7. What do I have to do to switch the Skymeter from one vehicle to another? i.e., Can I lend my meter to a friend or a relative? It is possible to move a meter among 2 or more cars. However, in each case the meter must be paired (registered) to the license plate of the vehicle currently using the meter in order to avoid a parking ticket. The payment system is associated to the mobile phone number you used for your ParkPlus account. Besides physically moving the meter from one vehicle to another, you must associate the license plate number to VIN of the new vehicle. Note: all payments for a registered vehicle will be taken from the account associated with your Skymeter. - 1-2016 PayBySky Inc.

8. I don t like the installation of the device where you recommend it. Can it go elsewhere? In order for the Skymeter to be accurate, it needs to have its antenna exposed to the sky and the LED visible to the driver (to determine correct payment is occurring). The best place to do that is on the windshield as shown in the video on www.mypaybysky.com As in the image below, a spot behind your rear-view mirror with LED still visible is ideal, although a position along the dashboard with the suction cups pressed against the glass also works. 9. How will I know if my account has a low or zero balance? You can query your ParkPlus account since your balance is managed there. PayBySky starts and ends your parking session and payments are taken from that account. If there are insufficient funds in your account, the ParkPlus system will notify the account administrator as it does currently. It is your responsibility to ensure you have adequate funds in your account to complete a parking transaction. Failure to have sufficient funds on account may result in a parking ticket for which you will be responsible. When there are insufficient funds in your account, the Skymeter will display an orange light indicating there is a problem with payment. (The Skymeter shows a solid green LED signal when parking is paid.) The PayBySky system will also send a text message to the registered cell phone number indicating a parking session has started or will notify you of a problem. 10. Am I alerted if I am parked illegally? If so, how? If you are parked legally, PayBySky detects when you are parked in a ParkPlus spot (street, lot, parkade/garage) and will start a parking transaction. Once the system has registered a parking payment for your vehicle, the Skymeter LED turns Solid Green. This takes only a few seconds. The LED on your Skymeter will be Red, Orange or flashing if there is a problem and payment cannot be confirmed. Note-1: it is possible to be legally parked in a place that we do not have parking payments arranged at: examples: a mall, a residential driveway, or a private operator that does not accept PayBySky. Note-2: We cannot top-up payment past the legally permitted parking time allowance. 11. What kind of alert do I get when one of my vehicles goes outside the geofence? If you have purchased the additional functionality of the PayBySky service, mypaybysky will generate a log record of where and when a vehicle crosses a geofence boundary. An option is available that will send a text or email message to a registered phone number or email. 12. How much does the service cost? Monthly fees are billed by PayBySky to your credit card or payment method as agreed when you set up your service. This service fee is in addition to any parking fees you may accrue using the service. 13. Does the monthly service charge cover the cost of parking? No. 14. What happens if my credit card maxes out? The payment system for CPA is ParkPlus and the ParkPlus rules apply. If payment is disabled (e.g., because your credit card or wallet has insufficient funds), then you will not receive a parking credential. You will know this because the skymeter LED will be solid orange. 15. I want my parking invoice from four months ago, how can I get that? Parking data is kept online (mypaybysky.com) and also on your account with ParkPlus, filed by date and visible only to you via password. 16. If my Payment account has a low balance, will the system still pay for my parking? If there are sufficient funds to pay for a full parking transaction session (i.e. 2 hours) and ParkPlus authorizes PayBySky to complete the transaction it will be processed and the Skymeter will show a solid green light. If there are insufficient funds, the Skymeter will show an orange LED, indicating no parking payment has been authorized. You will have to arrange for parking payment through alternate means until your ParkPlus account is brought up to a sufficient balance. Note: PayBySky can pay for your parking up to and including funds available in your account. We cannot extend credit. 17. What kind of receipting is available for tax purposes, given that I don t get a receipt from the pay station? Receipt can be obtained from your ParkPlus account. 18. Will there be updates to the software? How can I get these? Will there be an addition cost for these? Our system is updated over the air automatically, similar to the way a smartphone is updated. You will not notice when this has happened and it will not affect your service. There is no cost for normal software maintenance updates. 19. Can I get more parking time beyond the maximum allowed? For what situations do you guarantee no tickets? We guarantee no tickets when you park in a legal spot at a legal time. Specifically we are guarding against tickets for lack of payment in legal parking circumstances. We cannot protect you from insufficient funds or it you get a parking ticket for parking illegally e.g., parking by a fire-hydrant, a driveway, or in a no-parking location or time. 20. What if I only park for a couple of minutes? You will pay from shortly after the time you have parked until the time you depart. There should be no over- or under- payment. - 3-2016 PayBySky Inc.

21. I parked in a private (commercial) lot and I got a ticket. Only facilities registered with PayBySky (ParkPlus lots, parkades/garages and street spots) are handled. Note: The PayBySky system can recognize any parkade/garage, lot, area or driveway that is in its database. However, in any city, there are private facilities (employment and residential), commercial facilities as well as Municipal facilities. No non-payable facilities and not all payable facilities are registered. Watch the Skymeter for the Solid Green LED, to determine that payment has commenced. If you do not see that you need to pay separately if you are in a payable spot. 22. I got a ticket, but I thought payment was being handled PayBySky watches for any parking meter violation incurred by our customers and checks to be certain PayBySky has not made an error. If we have made an error, we will attempt to rectify the issue before a parking ticket is issued. If a citation does come through and you were parking legally and the Skymeter was on and running, call 1-888-237-7077 ext. 400. Note: Please look at the reason for your parking ticket. PayBySky pays for legal parking in the parking spots managed by our partners (e.g., the city parking authority, or any commercial or private parking operator that honours our payment system. We do not (and cannot) pay or take any responsibility for illegal parking (wrong time, wrong place). If you were parking at a legal time and in a legal place, we can examine the reason for the payment failure and rectify any error. 23. What do I do if I get a ticket for non- payment? Call 1-888-237-7077 ext. 400. 24. I'm selling my car, how can I terminate my service? Call 1-888-237-7077 ext. 400. If you are on a current service contract there will be a cancellation amount due. If you have not purchased your Skymeter, and depending on the remaining length of your contract, you may be able to return it to us to reduce the amount due on cancellation. Ask for details when you call. 25. Does this work in parkades/garages, too? PayBySky works in any parkade/garage that has been included in the system. If the Municipal parking authority in your city has been set up for this service, then any parkade/garage managed by the city is also included in the service. When you enter a parkade/garage that PayBySky serves, the LED on your meter will begin to GREEN FLICKER, then turn GREEN SOLID (paying). If the parkade/garage is not recognized the LED will flash GREEN SLOW. 26. I am driving to another city. Will PayBySky work there? PayBySky works in any city whose parking authorit(ies) have authorized it. Check www.paybysky.com to see the list of cities that use our service. 27. What happens if the mobile network is down? How will I know and what should I do to make sure my parking is paid for? If the mobile network is down, the Skymeter LED will be flickering red (Long, short, short), meaning the device is not communicating. In such cases, you should make payment in an alternate way. However, if this occurs whilst you are away from your vehicle and you receive a ticket, our system will find and rescind your ticket if you are parked legally. We cannot rescind a ticket for parking in the wrong location or time. Note: if, as you are parking the LED turns solid green, that means a parking session has been authorized for the legal maximum amount of time, and it remains in force even if the network goes down. 28. What happens if the system malfunctions? Will I get a parking ticket? Always use the simple rule: if, as you park, the LED turns solid green, that means you have paid for parking for the legal maximum amount of time, and it remains in force regardless of any malfunction of system or network. If you are in a ParkPlus zone and the Skymeter LED does not turn solid green you need to make an alternative parking payment arrangement. 29. Who do I call if I have difficulties with the system?
