The following pages will outline the process for creating, deleting and editing VBS Bookings. Please view the VBS Carrier Access Rules, available under Other Downloads from the home page of our web site for further information on the workings and rules of the VBS System. The latest version, introduced in Nov 2010 has been designed to improve on earlier versions in ensuring compliance with the VBS Rules to reduce peaks and troughs and provide the platform required to introduce an Automatic Gate system to further reduce turn times &/or increase available slots during peak periods. In Short Slots are booked in the same manner as in earlier versions. Trucks are allocated to the VBS booking once known. This is not required at the time that Slots are booked Containers are allocated to the truck once known. Again this is not required at the time that Slots are booked or the time the truck is allocated to the VBS booking. Containers and trucks can be amended at any time prior to the truck arriving on site Containers cannot be allocated to a truck if no slots are available. Page 1
SECTION 2.0 SLOT BOOKINGS To enter Web site go to www.flindersact.com.au and click on Online Services to get to the home page of Flinders Adelaide Container Terminal. Type your Username & password then tab to the VBS screen. Once in the VBS Screen ensure you are in View / Edit Bookings shown below (figure 1). Figure 1 To book VBS Slots for a particular time zone just click on an available slot number in the desired zone. This will take you to the following screen (New Vehicle Bookings figure 2) at which point you type the desired number of slots, make any comments you may like to be included on the print out and hit Submit. Figure 2 Once the request is submitted a booking confirmation will appear. Once reviewed and satisfied all details are accurate click on View / Edit Bookings to return to the front screen. If required to amend the number of slots booked just click on your booking (see figure 3) which will take you to the Edit Vehicle Bookings screen and amend as required. This completes the Slot Booking process. Page 3
SECTION 3.0 TRUCK BOOKINGS The next step is to allocate the trucks & containers required to be delivered / picked up to the slots booked. The first step is to allocate a truck to the booking. Click on your slots booked as shown in figure 3. Figure 3 This will take you to the Truck / Container Bookings screen where you will enter the truck and container information (see figure 4). Figure 4 Click on Add Truck, enter truck rego and hit Submit and Close. Continue adding trucks as required to the booking. Page 4
Trucks can be deleted if required by clicking this icon. Figure 5 process. This completes the Truck Booking SECTION 4.0 CONTAINER BOOKINGS Once trucks are allocated to the VBS Slot, containers need to be allocated to the truck. Click on ADD CONT (see figure 5) and the following dialog box (figure 6) will appear. Figure 6 Select the Type of transaction from the drop down list provided and complete the fields provided (see Section 4 - Transaction Details for further instructions if required). At this stage your booking is complete. These details can be amended any time prior to the truck arriving at security. SECTION 5.0 TRANSACTION DETAILS EXPORT CONTAINER WITH PRA The only detail required for this transaction type is the container number. Once submitted the Status will show OK or ERROR. If in error, click on the error button for further info, e.g. no PRA, etc. Clicking on the Cont / Rel No (container or release number) will provide subject details. Under Options you can edit container (to change number / transaction type) or delete the container from the truck completely. The Verify option is used to check the status for any updates, e.g. a container may be in error due to no PRA being lodged. By clicking on Verify you can check if the status has been changed to OK. EXPORT MT CONTAINER NO PRA This transaction is for bulk repositioning of mt containers and de-hiring mt s that have not been PRA d. This transaction requires a booking number, ISO Code and the gross weight. If no booking number can be found in the database contact our VBS Clerk who will facilitate with the shipping line. IMPORT FCL CONTAINER To lodge an Import FCL the container number and associated PIN number will need to be entered as proof of contract. IMPORT MT CONTAINER Please check with the VBS Clerk before electing this option. EMPTY RELEASE Used to pick up Import mt s. Requires the release number only. Page 7
NOTE: With all transaction s you must also allocate the position the container is on the truck and most importantly the position you want any containers you are picking up. Page 8
