leaders of tomorrow An ACCA initiative to recognise a leader of tomorrow today supported by

LEADERS OF TOMORROW The businesses we work with tell us that the challenge of developing a pipeline of future finance leaders is significant. A global survey of 500 CFOs and finance directors told us they require strong technical finance capabilities balanced with broader leadership capabilities. Recognising this, ACCA invites employers to nominate two high potential, young ACCA members within their organisation to participate in an outstanding programme which will contribute to their development as future finance leaders. These members must not be more than 30 years old and have gained the ACCA membership for less than 3 years. These Leaders of Tomorrow (LoT) will participate in a diverse range of high-quality development and leadership opportunities. The intention is to equip them with the necessary skills and breadth of financial and business understanding to become a complete and flexible finance leader. This structured one-year programme is carefully designed to benefit these high-achieving individuals, their employers and the wider finance community. Beyond this, participants will benefit from engaging with their alumni, providing excellent opportunities for them to continually refresh and develop their business and commercial awareness. BENEFITS TO EMPLOYERS Organisations will benefit from: development of stronger, more confident, well-rounded and proactive future leaders participants exposure to cross-sector knowledge and different ways of thinking assisting succession planning by developing a cadre of highly qualified candidates for promotion to executive leadership positions contributing to the national agenda of developing high performing professionals. BENEFITS TO PARTICIPANTS Participants have the opportunity to: build a strong cross-sector business network gain access to an alumnus buddy (applicable for second batch onwards) engage and network with senior ACCA members including mentor sessions (thrice a year) with C-suite level members gain access to ACCA events such as ACCA Conference, stakeholder networking receptions gain access to the ACCA Young Leaders Network and CFO Network. NOMINATION PROCESS QUOTES FROM LOT PARTICIPANTS Nominees will be required to complete a form to be returned before the deadline of 15 December 2014. PROGRAMME CONDITIONS Employers will be invited to nominate two high-potential staff who are ACCA members. These candidates must have gained their ACCA membership within 3 years and are below the age of 30 Attendance will be monitored, with ACCA reserving the right to remove participants whose participation level falls below 90% The success of the programme relies on employers who are expected to allow participants the required time off to attend all activities (typically a total of 8 to 10 days across one year, with the majority of activities taking place within core work hours). THE MENTORS Nominated participants of this initiative will be connected to specially selected mentors comprising ACCA members at the C-suite level across industries. This is an integral part of the LoT programme, to enable the sharing of wisdom and best practices. The main thing I took from the programme was the connections I made with other young professionals, many of whom I am still in touch with now. Alistair Goddin, Head of Risk, Hiscox I understand what makes me and others tick and how this can lead to me making a stronger impression in my working relationships. Sarah Hookway, Senior Finance Analyst, Sainsburys The programme has provided me with a solid leadership skill set, developed my self-awareness and given me the confidence to demonstrate leadership behaviours. Emma Searle, UK Equipment and Inventory Finance Team Leader, Xerox RECOGNISE A LEADER OF TOMORROW TODAY! To participate in this initiative and to find out more, please contact: Zaiti Waddell-Mohd Ali Head, Business Relations direct: +60 (0)3 2182 3602 email: zaiti.ali@accaglobal.com
