The items set forth herein, whether of clarification, omission, addition, deletion, or substitution are to be included in and shall form a part of the proposal submitted. ADDENDUM #1, ITEM #4: BITUMINOUS ASPHALT SURFACE COURSE The Bituminous Asphalt Concrete Surface course thickness has been changed from 2 inches to 3 inches for Bid Schedule B. ADDENDUM#1.doc 1
ADDENDUM #1, ITEM #5: ASPHALT PAVEMENT It is required that the final lift of asphalt for Bid Schedule A and Bid Schedule B be placed in one continuous paving operation. ADDENDUM #1, ITEM #6: QUESTIONS AND RESPONSES Question 1: Drawing 7 contains a note that says muck is to be disposed of offsite. Drawing A8 note 2. says it can be used for fill outside the RW and TW safety areas. Which is correct? Response 1: Note on Sheet 15, Drawing A8 is correct. Please disregard the note on Sheet 7. Question 2: Will there be a source of water at the Airport we can use and make some kind of arrangement to pay for Response 2: Yes, there is a water hydrant on Airport Road. The contractor can obtain a hydrant meter from the City. Question 3: Will the test strip for the Runway Extension be the only test strip required or will a test strip be required for Alpha Taxiway and another test strip for Runway Rehabilitation? Response 3: One test strip will be required for Bid Schedule A asphalt pavement, and one test will be required for Bid Schedule B asphalt pavement. Question 4: I want to make sure that the Owner will be responsible for the testing and the Contractor will only be paying for test failures (retesting). Response 4: The Owner will pay for Quality Assurance (QA) testing, as required by the technical specifications. The contractor shall be responsible for paying for the cost of any failing QA tests. Refer to Note 1 on Sheet 4 for more information. Question 5: Will we be required to video the 36 RCP? Response 5: No video is required but the pipe will need to be lamp tested after pipe trench backfill is compacted and brought to grade or pavement subgrade. ADDENDUM #1, ITEM #7: QUESTIONS DEADLINE The deadline for questions has expired. No more questions will be answered regarding this project. ADDENDUM #1, ITEM #8: FINAL BID SCHEDULE An electronic copy of the final Bid Schedule in Microsoft Excel format is included as part of this addendum. Please disregard all other versions of the Bid Schedule and use the one included with this addendum for submitting your bid. Note: Revised contract documents, specifications, and construction plans with all addenda items incorporated shall be issued to the successful bidder prior to contract execution.
