WHAT IS EPERFORMANCE? eperformance is available all year round to track your own goals, continuous learning experiences and general performance via the section, as well as for your employees via the section. In addition, managers and employees are asked to fill out forms, i.e., Goal Setting, Annual Performance Evaluation, Performance Updates and Conflict of Interest. HOW DO I LOG IN TO EPERFORMANCE? eperformance is accessible via the HR Portlet on the Babson Portal. USE YOUR BABSON USERNAME AND PASSWORD. If you are a relatively new employee and it does not recognize your username and password, please contact hr@babson.edu to ensure your account has been created. WHAT IS THE PROCESS FOR THE ANNUAL PERFORMANCE EVALUATION? During each calendar year, you, as a manager are asked to complete three forms in eperformance for each employee: 1) goals, 2) a performance update, and 3) an annual performance evaluation. Given the varying nature of work across the College, you have the flexibility to choose the appropriate time of year to complete each item. The Annual Performance Evaluation form requires managers to: 1. Write a quality performance review, 2. Discuss it with their employee in person, and
3. Send it to the employee via the eperformance system for agreement, comments if desired, and sign-off. HOW DO I FILL OUT THE ANNUAL PERFORMANCE EVALUATION FORM? In most cases, you will receive an email from Human Resources that includes a link to the eperformance system. The homepage includes a list of all tasks. ACTIVE TASKS ARE EITHER OR. SELECTING THE FORM 1) Click on the Select the appropriate form link. There are TWO TYPES OF ANNUAL REVIEW FORMS one used for individual contributors and one for managers. 2) Check the box to the left of all the individual contributors, then 3) click Select Form on the right in the grey header.
4) Select the Individual Contributor form, then 5) click Select. Repeat steps 2-5 for employees who need the manager form. COMPLETING THE FORM From the form selection screen, 1) click on the Write an annual performance review link. You can also access this step from the eperformance homepage. Choose the employee you d like to review first, then 2) click on the Edit Evaluation link. The REVIEW OF GOALS is first. 1) You can ENTER THE GOALS manually, or if your employee has previously entered goals into eperformance, you can easily access them and import them via the copy button at which point you ll see the window below. If the goals were entered directly into the system, you should see them immediately. If they were entered into a form as part of a process, select Process Defined at the top, and then you should be able to see the goals.
2) Once the goals are entered on the form, you COMMENT ON THE OUTCOME AND ACCOMPLISHMENTS related to that goal. 3) If your employee has more than 2 goals, you can select the button. 4) At any point while completing the form, you can at the top right.
The COMPETENCIES section is next. There are six competencies. There is one set of definitions for employees and another for managers. You are asked to 1) provide COMMENTS AND EXAMPLES OF EMPLOYEE BEHAVIOR regarding each competency (and sub-competencies) and 2) provide a RATING FOR THE COMPETENCY AS A WHOLE. You should be able to articulate to your employees how their behavior would need to change in order to receive a higher rating. 3) At any point while completing the form, you can top right. at the The last section is to identify specific DEVELOPMENT NEEDS, whether skill-based or behavioral, if applicable. At any point while completing the form, you can at the top right. When finished, the EVALUATION CAN BE SENT AUTOMATICALLY TO THE EMPLOYEE BY CLICKING at the top right. If however, you would like to discuss the review prior to your employee
seeing it, and would like the ability to still edit, click DO I HAVE TO EVALUATE ALL OF THE COMPETENCIES, IF SOME ARE NOT RELEVANT TO MY EMPLOYEE S POSITION? Yes. Although some competencies may seem less important to some positions, they are all considered important to some extent for all positions at Babson so we ask that you evaluate all of them. WHAT SHOULD I WRITE IN THE COMPETENCY COMMENTS SECTIONS? The comments sections are an opportunity for you to give specific examples to support the competency ratings, as well as make suggestions on how the employee could improve to a higher rating, when applicable. DO I DISCUSS THE REVIEW IN PERSON WITH MY EMPLOYEE? We strongly encourage you to meet with your employees in person to discuss their reviews. You have the flexibility to share the review form before or after the in person meeting. WHAT DOES MY EMPLOYEE DO AS PART OF THE ANNUAL PERFORMANCE EVALUATION? Your employees are asked to 1) AGREE OR DISAGREE with the evaluation and 2) ADD COMMENTS, if they d like to. 3) At any point while completing the form, employees can at the
top right or 4) click the button at the top right, at which point the form will be permanently filed under their Past Evaluations section of eperformance. If an employee disagrees with their evaluation, HR will be notified and they will contact you to help facilitate a conversation. CAN I STILL MAKE EDITS IF I ALREADY SAVED AS COMPLETE? If you have already clicked the, but would like to make additional edits, please contact Human Resources, hr@babson.edu or ext. 4128, and we will roll you back. The rollback process maintains all the data you have already entered, but gives you an opportunity to make additional edits.
