Final targets for PA 1a of the EUSDR (1) Increase the cargo transport on the river by 20% by 2020 compared to 2010. [target maintained as in EC Communication of Dec. 2010] (2) Solve obstacles to navigability, taking into account the specific characteristics of each section of the Danube and its navigable tributaries and establish effective waterway infrastructure management by 2015. [target reformulated from EC Communication of Dec. 2010: "Remove existing navigability bottlenecks on the river so as to accommodate type VIb vessels all year round by 2015"] si Infrastructurii Slide No. 5

Final targets for PA 1a of the EUSDR (3) Develop efficient multimodal terminals at river ports along the Danube and its navigable tributaries to connect inland waterways with rail and road transport by 2020. [target reformulated from EC Communication of Dec. 2010: "Development of efficient multimodal terminals at Danube river ports to connect inland waterways with rail and road transport by 2020"] The same target was reformulated from EC Communication for Priority Area 1b of the EUSDR as follows: Development of efficient multimodal terminals at Danube river ports and dry ports to connect inland waterways with rail and road transport by 2020. si Infrastructurii Slide No. 6

Final targets for PA 1a of the EUSDR (4) Implement harmonised River Information Services (RIS) on the Danube and its navigable tributaries and ensure the international exchange of RIS data preferably by 2015. [new target; not in EC Communication of Dec. 2010] (5) Solve the shortage of qualified personnel and harmonize education standards in inland navigation in the Danube region by 2020, taking duly into account the social dimension of the respective measures. Results of 1st Working Group Meeting from 27th October 2011 Kick-Off of the five thematic Working Groups Overview on status quo of the five thematic areas of the respective Working Groups; heterogeneous nature of thematic areas (different status of implementation, different needs) Open architecture of Working Groups: all parties interested Frequency: meetings at least twice a year Goal is to involve both the public and the private sectors in the target-oriented analysis and discussion of projects and project ideas (status quo, gap analysis, etc.) si Infrastructurii Slide No. 17
