Check materials immediately upon receipt, verify all the correct materials in the correct packaging are accounted for in good condition. Sort the materials and store them in a tempered storage area. FIRST FLOOD PRIMER (ONLY REQUIRED FOR SINGLE APPLICATION) Pigmented C Bondcoat is required only in the case of a single-broadcast application. In the case of multiple Broadcast applications go directly to Step Two. C Bondcoat Mix Ratio: 2A:1B Cure Time: 6 hrs Coverage: 225 sq. ft. Pot Life: 35 min Recoat Time: 6-48 hrs DFT: 7 mils When Pigmenting C Bondcoat add the pigment to the comp A at the following Ratio: 3 Gallon Unit ColorPax-E 1 Pint per Unit 5 Gallon Bulk ColorPax-E 1 Quart per Unit (1 Quart and 1 Pint per unit) A. Completely empty the contents of Component A and the ColorPax-E into a clean mixing container, scraping the sides and bottom of cans to insure all materials are used. Mix with a low speed electrical mixer for approximately two minutes to a homogenous blend. Then add Component B scraping the sides and bottom of cans to insure all materials are used. Mix for an additional minute. Take care not to entrap air into the mixture. B. Mix together the following materials: C Bondcoat Comp A and Pigment Mixture (2.12 Parts by Volume) C Bondcoat Comp B (1 Part by Volume) three minutes to a homogenous blend. C. Apply a thin coat of C Bondcoat using a trowel, squeegee, or roller over the area to be coated. Do not allow primer to puddle or be applied too thick. A Three Gallon (2 gal A: 1 gal B) mixture should cover approximately 675 square feet (225 sq. ft. / mixed gallon) over smooth surface. If surface is very porous, two coats may be required. Allow to cure as described below before proceeding with the application OPTION: SECOND APPLYING DECOR-FLOR BASE When a Cove base is required it should be applied and sealed (except the final seal coat) before application of the floor. Dex-O-Tex Application Specification Page 3 of 8 Decor-Flor DFS Broadcast

STEP ONE Bondcoat Application C Bondcoat Mix Ratio: 2A:1B Pot Life: 35 min Cure Time: 6 hrs Recoat Time: 6 48 hrs Coverage: 225 sq. ft. DFT: 7 mils A. Mix together the following materials: C Bondcoat Comp A... (2 Parts by Volume) C Bondcoat Comp B... (1 Part by Volume) three minutes to a homogenous blend. Once the material is mixed thoroughly add approximately 8 oz (by volume) fumed silica (Aerosil, Cabosil) and continue to mix slowly until the fumed silica is well dispersed. This will make the bondcoat thick and sticky. B. Apply a thin coat of C Bondcoat using a paint or masonry brush over the area to be coated. A Three Gallon (2 gal A : 1 gal B) mixture should cover approximately 675sq. ft. (225 sq. ft./ mixed gallon) of 6 cove base over smooth surfaces. If surface is very porous, two coats may be required. Allow the bondcoat to take an initial set, however, the installation of cove materials should be made while the bondcoat is still tacky. Proceed with application of cove base as described below immediately ALTERNATE: If desired the bondcoat may be applied the day prior to placement of the cove base. Mix C Bondcoat as described above, except do not add the fumed silica. Brush the bondcoat up the vertical surface and allow to take an initial set. Then broadcast color quartz aggregate into the wet primer. This will provide a textured surface that the cove base material may be troweled directly into to next day, or if desire an additional application of the thickened bondcoat may be applied over the textured bondcoat the next day for maximum ease of application. STEP TWO Cove Base Matrix (0.75 Gal Mix) Mix Ratio: 2A:1B: Agg* Pot Life: 25 min Cure Time: 6 hrs Recoat Time: 6-48 hrs Coverage: 35 Ln. ft, 6 Cove DFT: 125 mils *Glass Beads, and fumed silica or liquid thickener. NOTE: When mixing materials for a troweled cove base the mix design may vary according to environmental conditions, site conditions and personal preference. This is best accomplished by the following method. A. A and Component B (2 Part A to 1 Part B) and pour into a clean mixing container, scraping the sides and bottom of cans to insure all materials are used. When applying cove base we recommend smaller mixes in order to keep mixes fresh, ½ gallon of component A to ¼ gallon component B, mix with approximately 6-8 oz (by volume) of fumed silica thickener powder, or 2 3 oz liquid thickener. Then add 1 gallon of glass bead and blend together into a uniform mix. Then mix in aggregate, use approximately one 50 lbs bag of colored quartz aggregate. Mix with a low speed electrical mixer for approximately three minutes to a homogenous blend. NOTE: Cove base detail application options vary depending on desired finish requirements, and project specifications. Examine project detail drawings for the cove base detail for the project, If not provided see Dex-O-Tex detail drawings for finish options. B. Apply cove base matrix into tacky primer or over textured bondcoat surface (see previous step). Installation of Decor-Flor cove base should be made to a cap strip or, formed or feathered to a piece of heavy cloth tape on the wall and a heavy cloth tape on the floor, placed either at the bottom of the cove radius (approximately ¾ ) out on the floor, or approximately 1 ½ (3.8cm) out on the floor, to create a straight edge finish at the toe of the base. When using the method where the base terminates at the bottom of the radius, turn in the base as tightly as possible to the floor. If Dex-O-Tex Application Specification Page 4 of 8 Decor-Flor DFS Broadcast

terminating out on the floor, apply Decor-Flor base to the anticipated thickness of the floor. C. Inspect mixed materials for uniformity and workability, alter material mix design to mechanics preference. Always box materials with new mixes before using the last of the material. This helps insure material color and appearance consistency. D. Using a 6 X 3 trowel, take the cove base matrix material and hawk it up onto the vertical surface. Push the material up and vertical into the cap strip or feathered tie to the taped termination line. Work the material back and forth to the desired thickness (take care to make sure the material thickness and compaction are correct). E. Then place a loose ribbon of cove base matrix along the cove. Using a cove trowel, run along the base forming the radius of the cove base and smoothing into both the termination on the wall and floor. F. Remove the tape shortly after the cove base has been installed and before the cove base materials cure. Apply grout and seal coats (except final finish coat) before application of the floor. OPTION: The cove base may be sealed at the same time as the floor if desired. However, this process is more difficult and risky then grouting and sealing the base before application of the floor, and requires a knowledgeable and skilled mechanic for best results. If this method is used, insure materials do not puddle at the bottom of the cove base and skip to next step (application of the floor). STEP THREE Sealing Cove Base Mix Ratio: 2A:1B: Cure Time: 6 hrs Coverage: 400 l.f. Pot Life: 25 min Recoat Time: 6-48 hrs DFT: 7-8 mils A. Mix together the following materials: Comp A (2 Parts by Volume) Comp B (1 Part by Volume) three minutes to a homogenous blend. B. Apply a thin coat of using a good quality paint brush over the area to be sealed. A One and a half gallon (1 gal A: ½ gal B) mixture should cover approximately 600 lineal feet (400 ln. ft. / mixed gallon) of 6 cove base over a good compacted matrix. If surface is porous or open, extra coats will be required. C. Allow the Decor-Flor resin to take an initial set, as the matrix heats up during the curing process it becomes thin and will start to sag of the vertical surface and want to puddle along the radius and floor transition. When this start to occur, use a 8 double blade squeegee with red blades, and pull the excess material off the cove, radius and floor. Pick up and discard the excess resin. D. Apply two or three additional coats as required in the same method as described above. Seal the cove base and radius so that they are completely filled and impervious. Take care to insure excess sealer has not filled your tie in line where the floor is to be applied up to the cove base application. STEP FOUR Decor-Flor Floor Mix Ratio: 2A:1B: Cure Time: 6 hrs Coverage: 150 sq.ft. Pot Life: 25 min Recoat Time: 6-48 hrs DFT: 10-12 mils A. Mix together the following materials: Comp A (2 Parts by Volume) Comp B (1 Part by Volume) Dex-O-Tex Application Specification Page 5 of 8 Decor-Flor DFS Broadcast

three minutes to a homogenous blend. B. Spread the blended materials evenly and fairly liberally over the entire surface using a 3/32 notched squeegee or 3/8 nap roller and backroll. This material will follow out in approximately 3 to 5 minutes, filling any minor voids or depressions. The must be uniform, wet and free of ridges. A one and a half gallon (1 gal A: ½ gal B) mixture should cover approximately 225 square feet (150 sq. ft. / mixed gallon). After the Resin levels out, immediately proceed with broadcasting aggregate. C. Always work new material into a wet edge with uniform coverage. Where work is to be stopped for the day apply a strip of heavy cloth tape to concrete at control joints prior to spreading. This will create a straight edge stop. Apply up to and slightly over edge of tape. Remove tape shortly after broadcasting Decor-Flor Aggregate. STEP FIVE Broadcasting Aggregate Decor-Flor Aggregate OPTION: Decor-Flor aggregate is available in 50 lbs bags of solid colors or 50lbs bags of blended colors. Always preblend and box mixes of aggregate before application. Coverage: 0.5 lbs per sq.ft. per broadcast 50 lbs. bag 100 sq.ft. A. Immediately after the material has been applied and flows out, the blended quartz aggregate is broadcast into the wet Decor- Flor Resin to the point of rejection of the broadcast aggregate. Broadcasting the aggregate may be accomplished by hand or by mechanical Blower Assembly (consult Crossfield Products Corp.). Always loft the aggregate up in the air so that it drops down vertically onto the surface and does not roll. Continue to broadcast aggregate until covered surface looks dry and does not have a wet appearance. B. When broadcasting the aggregate, leave a 6 18 (15-45 cm) border of wet at the edge of continuing work into which aggregate has not broadcast. Apply succeeding application of up to this wet edge border while it is still wet. Continue to work new material into the wet edge and broadcast aggregate in the same manner. C. Care must be taken to thoroughly cover the while it is still wet. Make sure the entire area is broadcast to rejection, and all wet spots receive additional aggregate. NOTE: If walking on the while broadcasting the aggregate, golf spikes or spiked shoes should be used. Never walk on any portion of the floor that has received the broadcast aggregate. D. One bag of blended aggregates will be required to initially cover approximately 140 sq. ft. (6.5 sq. meters). Approximately ½ of the blended aggregate can be retrieved for later re-use. CAUTION: In the case of a small installation which is all to be done at one time, or in only two or three pours of Decor-Flor, additional quantities of aggregate (approximately four times that shown on page 1 of this specification) must be on hand as aggregate cannot be recovered for re-use. STEP SIX Removal and Recovery of Excess Aggregate A. After at least a six hour drying period at approximately 73ºF. (21ºC.), the excess or unadhered aggregates are removed. The surface is then lightly scraped and thoroughly vacuumed to remove all loose or excessively protruding particles. B. The swept-up or vacuumed up aggregates can be re-used. Use only a vacuum with a plastic gasket at bottom of vacuum head to prevent metallic discoloration. Sieve the recovered aggregates, threw a fine screen to remove contamination and clumps of aggregates. Dex-O-Tex Application Specification Page 6 of 8 Decor-Flor DFS Broadcast

OPTION Additional Coats If a double-seed or triple-seed installation is to accomplished, apply the additional coat(s) of Decor- Flor Resin over the swept and vacuumed aggregate surface. A one and a half gallon (1 gal A: ½ gal B) mixture should cover approximately 180 square feet (120 sq. ft. / mixed gallon). Broadcast aggregate into wet, allow to dry and remove excess as outlined in Steps three - Five above. Repeat the process once for a double-seed application and twice for a triple seed application. Caution: Insure that the final surface of the aggregate is kept clean prior to finish applications of and finish sealer. Dirt, dust or stains could be sealed into the surface. Pay particular attention to cleanliness of footwear and knee pads when sealing to the floor. STEP SEVEN Sealer Mix Ratio: 2A:1B: Cure Time: 6 hrs Coverage: 115 sq.ft. Pot Life: 25 min Recoat Time: 6-48 hrs DFT: 15 mils A. Mix together the following materials: Comp A (2 Parts by Volume) Comp B (1 Part by Volume) C. Mix and apply a second seal coat of Decor-Flor Resin. Spread the blended materials evenly and fairly liberally over the entire surface using a double bladed squeegee or 3/8 nap roller, and backroll. Take care to apply the material evenly over the entire surface. The must be spread out uniformly, to produce an even finish. A one and a half gallon (1 gal A: ½ gal B) mixture should cover approximately 270 square feet (180 sq. ft./ mixed gallon). NOTE: If this is the last coat of sealer to be applied, the should also be applied to (pre-sealed) vertical surfaces and cove base. Apply a thin coat of using a good quality paint brush over the area to be sealed. A one and a half gallon (1 gal A: 1/2 gal B) mixture should cover approximately 600 lineal feet (400 ln. ft. / mixed gallon) of 6 cove base over a pre-sealed vertical surface or cove base. First, only apply the sealer to the vertical surfaces. Then allow the Decor-Flor resin to take an initial set, as the matrix heats up during the curing process it becomes thin and will start to sag of the vertical surface and want to puddle along the radius and floor transition. When this start to occur, use a 8 double blade squeegee with red blades, and pull the excess material off the cove, radius out onto the floor. Then apply the seal coat over the entire floor surface. three minutes to a homogenous blend. B. Spread the blended materials evenly and fairly liberally over the entire surface using a double bladed squeegee or 3/8 nap roller, and backroll. This material will follow out in approximately 3 to 5 minutes, filling the texture of the broadcast surface. The Decor-Flor Resin must be uniform, and completely wet out and fill the surface of the floor. A one and a half gallon (1 gal A: ½ gal B) mixture should cover approximately 175 square feet (115 sq. ft./ mixed gallon). OPTION: If a smoother finish then normal is desired, apply an additional coat of Decor-Flor Resin, or other selected finish coat. This will require an additional 1/2 gallon of Decor-Flor Resin material per 100 sq. ft. (9.3 sq. meters). ALTERNATE: Optional sealers may be applied for better chemical resistance, heat resistance abrasion resistance, high gloss, satin or matte finishes. Consult each individual products application specification for application instruction. General Notes 1. This system is composed of SELF LEVELING materials which may flow, while wet, on extremely pitched to drain surfaces. Dex-O-Tex Application Specification Page 7 of 8 Decor-Flor DFS Broadcast

2. Areas where Decor-Flor is being installed must be well lighted through all steps of preparation and installation to insure full and proper coverage of all materials. 3 Installations of Decor-Flor in a SINGLE aggregate color is NOT recommended. Keep out of reach of children. 4. For industrial use only. Do not allow application by untrained workers. Cautions for Safe Handling of Epoxy, Polyurethane or Polyurea Materials 1.
