The role and our requirements Fundraising Officer Role Purpose The purpose of the Fundraising Officer role is to help deliver the first ever fundraising strategy, with the Head of Fundraising, and to help build on this strategy going forward. You will provide excellent donor experiences at all touch points and help us to test a variety of fundraising activities with a range of new audiences. This role is vital to the achieving our fundraising vision of doubling voluntary income to 2m by 2021. ABOUT US Why the role is important to us This is an extremely exciting time to join our team as we begin to deliver our new fundraising strategy for 2017-2020 to support the Foundation s vision. In order to advance medical research, improve human health and change people s lives, we have an ambitious aim to double voluntary income by 2021. You will play a crucial role in helping us to implement the new fundraising strategy so that we can fund even more promising medical research. We use our donations responsibly and ensure they make the greatest impact where they are most needed. You will help to motivate and engage our current donors by providing tailored and engaging reports, updates and information on the impact of their support. You will also help to engage new donors by identifying those interested in medical research and inspiring them to support the charity. What you will do As a member of a small, but growing, team you will help us create an environment for successful fundraising activities and excellent donor experiences at every stage of their journey. You will: Research potential prospects for funding including Trusts, Foundation, indviduals and companies in order to build on the prioritised and segmented prospect list that grows year on year Make funding applications to a range of identified prospects to help meet the fundraising targets each year Devise and implement bespoke stewardship plans for your portfolio of donors Monitor, evaluate, update and report on our online fundraising platforms incl. Just Giving, Charity Choice and MuchLoved Help to prepare bespoke, engaging donor reports Support the test and learn strategy for challenge event fundraising including support for the

marketing and administration of challenge events and the development of stewardship plans for all participants Support the marketing and information management of legacy and in-memory giving Support the delivery of 2-3 successful cultivation events per year Seek and maximise additional fundraising opportunities and raise awareness of the organisation s work where possible Support and work with colleagues to update fundraising areas of the website. In addition, you will carry out any other reasonable duties to deliver the fundraising strategy identify opportunities to continually improve the foundation. WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO THE ROLE You will have experience of successfully securing income from voluntary sources including Trusts, Foundations, individuals or companies with a minimum of three years experience providing detailed and engaging reports for a variety of funders researching funding prospects and creating prospect pipelines building relationships with donors and trustees organising or supporting cultivation events using charity databases You will be able to Communicate clearly and build relationships with people from a range of backgrounds Demonstrate a high level of accuracy and attention to detail

WHAT WE ARE OFFERING (for information purposes only) Salary 28,000-30,000 (depending on experience) Pension Medical Research Foundation offers an auto-enrolment pension scheme with Standard Life. On employment, Medical Research Foundation double-matches employee contributions to a maximum 10% (employer contributions) 36 hours per week usually worked over 5 days per week. Medical Research Foundation operates a flex time system and core working hours are 10am to 4pm. Working hours This role will occasionally require the post holder to work additional hours to cover events, donor meetings and travel. No additional salary is paid. Annual leave 30 days plus public holidays January to December holiday year. Location MRC s head office, One Kemble Street, London. Probation period Six months Notice period 1 month, after successful completion of a six-month probation.
