Abrasion Resistant System (ARS)
Brief Description Both polyester and polyurethane coatings can be modified with the addition of polyamide particles to provide a slightly textured surface. This results from the polyamide particles protruding from the surface. These coatings have all the properties of the system from which they were derived. Besides that, major improvements in abrasion resistance and handling properties on the coated product are achieved. Super Durable Polyester (SDP)
Brief Description A new generation of coatings based on advanced resin technology providing superdurable coatings with outstanding outdoor weathering properties. The final coatings can be of polyester or polyurethane at all-gloss level and providing performances superior to that of silicone polyester, approaching that of PVDF coatings. They can be formulated as high-build coatings to provide typical dry film thickness of 20 to 30µ. This top coat is available as normal smooth finishes, polyamide modified or with special surface properties including wrinkle, anti-slip and pearl finishes. Silicon Modified Polyester (SMP)
Brief Description These coatings are based on a blend of polyester and silicone modified resins. The presence of the silicone modification provides an increase in the overall durability of the coating but at a cost of reduced flexibility of the film. Two levels of the modification (30% and 50%) are typical, resulting in progressive durability improvements. The coatings are supplied, typically with a semi-gloss finish for building products.
