Installation Information Deck Board Coverage Finished size (mm) Linear metres To cover 1 square 40 x 90 10.5 metre of deck 40 x 140 6.9 Coverage allows for 5mm gap between boards Joists Required 40mm thick deck boards allow for a span of 600mm between joist centres. Joists are available from stock in two sizes - 45 x 95mm & 45 x 145mm in a range of lengths up to 4.8m. Fixings For best results use GRK R4 TM 5.0 x 80mm Pheinox Stainless Steel Deck Screws. These screws are self countersinking with a specially designed thread, preventing the timber from splitting. Deck boards should be fixed to each joist with two screws placed at quarter points on the board width. The type of finish depends on the final look desired. Finish protects the wood from moisture absorption and UV degradation.
