CASE STUDY Sellafield Ltd (nuclear fuel reprocessing and nuclear decommissioning site). We designed and delivered an emergency and crisis management programme in a highly regulated environment. Protecting what you value ASSESS - Where are you now? From a basic health check discussion with our experts, or a base-line review to measure capability against defined criteria through to a full resilience audit (assessed against industry Standards), we can assess an organisation s effectiveness and embedded culture and identify the gaps. We understand the latest threats that organisations face in today s turbulent world and use our knowledge and expertise to assess the resilience of our client s strategies and plans against these risks. DECIDE - Where do you want to be? We help our client s develop and write their resilience strategies, policies, plans and procedures to ensure they have confidence in their ability to withstand disruption. ACT - How will you get there? We offer a broad and comprehensive programme of training and support services to ensure people have the skills, competence, knowledge and confidence to act appropriately when the unexpected happens. From training courses, critical friend support, mentoring and coaching, our experts are on hand to guide our clients along the right path. TEST - How will you know you re there? Now is the time to test people, plans, policies and processes to exercise and validate arrangements. Whether that s a quick table-top rehearsal or a comprehensive live exercise, our subject matter experts will put arrangements and people through their paces. To complete the validation, we also provide our clients with an independent assessment of their capability in the form of a high level post-exercise debrief and report of key findings. IMPROVE - How do you continue to improve? Through developing a culture of organisational learning and by striving to keep ahead of the game, we can support you and your organisation through a programme of continuous improvement to grow the knowledge and skills required to adapt to the ever-evolving threats we face today. CASE STUDY Major Electricity Distribution Company Developing organisational resilience We provided a range of solutions to build greater organisational resilience beginning with a test exercise involving their top team. This was followed by a holistic assessment of the company s resilience arrangements, using our base-line review methodology which is based on BS65000 Organizational Resilience. It revealed the strengths and weaknesses of the company s strategic and operational management of incident risk, business continuity and crisis management and led to training events, test exercises, advisory inputs and a second base-line review exercise. The company can now demonstrate its resilience, through working systematically with a competent authority. It has achieved assurance that it will have the capability to manage major disruptive events without damage to its reputation and brand value and can now satisfy the government and regulator that it has done everything reasonable to ensure that it can maintain essential services to the public.
