Key Purpose: 1 2 3 4 5 6 Effective management and coordination of the Digital Learning Zones (DLZs) and learning resource service, providing a responsive service that meets the evolving needs of students and curriculum. Establish the DLZs as the third learning space for students and component of the Digital Learning Strategy creating a team culture and environment that facilitates and supports independent learning through the study programme, offering users a high quality information resource service. Embed good practices, outstanding customer service and innovation, by setting high standards and leading on training and CPD to develop the ICT proficiency of Digital Learning Facilitators, to enable them to effectively support students with their learning and deliver a high quality service. Responsible for the co-ordination and operational management of DLZs, printed and digital resources/platforms, staffing, budget and management information. Contribute the development and successful implementation of the Digital Learning strategy, in a particular with the continuous development of a high quality Digital and Library Resource service that provides up to date resources that meet the evolving needs of our customers. Overall responsibility for the successful launch and roll out of new virtual learning environment, including day to day running and continuous development. 7 To participate in key College processes as required.

To be responsible for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults you are responsible for, or come into contact with. Duties and Responsibilities: 1 2. 3. 4. 5 6 Responsible for the effective operational management of the DLZs and the service, including opening hours, housekeeping, management of student behaviour, resources, customer service etc. Effective management of the service to meet the College s strategic aims of facilitating structured and timetabled independent learning as part of the study programme, with the DLZs. Including supporting learners and members of the community with drop-in sessions. Develop a performance management system that measures and tracks the effectiveness of the service including learner attendance in meeting the objectives set out in the Digital Learning Strategy. Produce regular management reports and undertake regular service reviews, including the annual SAR. Develop a service charter and monitoring performance against this. Effective management of staff under your control and their individual performance, training and development with emphasis and developing their digital literacy to create a trained and competent team that can manage digital platforms, provide demonstrations, facilitate digital learning and deliver the strategic aims and objectives set-out in the Digital Learning Strategy requirements of the study programme. Overall responsibility of the VLE: effective management and roll-out, managing the technical and operational performance, leading on staff CPD to maximise take-up, developing the quality standards (including monitoring and reporting), future development of the platform and acting as the key contact with Canvas. Responsible for establishing a well presented and professional team that are good representatives of the service and ambassadors of the College, in particular at open days/events, to promote the service to potential students, parents, schools and stakeholders.

7 8 9. 10 11. 12 13 14 In collaboration with curriculum, lead on the procurement of digital and printed resources and systems (Ebsco/Curriculum Builder/eBooks etc.). Maintain current knowledge and awareness of curriculum and market developments/innovations to enhance and improve the learner experience and meet the evolving needs of curriculum. Develop and lead on implementation of projects identified in the Digital Learning Strategy, using a project management processes. Develop and lead on the implementation of induction programmes delivered through the DLZs, and other digital communication mediums that clarify and promote the service offer and resources available. Build and maintain productive relationships with key stakeholders to provide a responsive and up to date service, acting as the College representative. Lead on the development and efficient operation of the Library management system (Heritage) and co-ordinate stock selection, and maintenance policies, responsible for classifying/cataloguing new stock. Through effective networking, share best practice and innovation to develop and continuously improve the service. To undertake any other duties commensurate with the level and responsibility of the post. Maintain legal compliance with licences and resources and play and proactive role in supporting internal/external audits and inspections e.g. OFSTED inspections, QAA reviews, CLA etc. Variations to the job description may be required from time to time and when this arises there will be a discussion with the post holder.
