Refurbishment timeline Different projects require varying levels of refurbishment, depending on the quality of the building we start with and the specification of the finished product. Some clients may wish to reduce costs by using as much of the old building as possible, where some projects may require a building to be stripped back to its frame and entirely rebuilt. > > Inspection The process begins by carefully selecting units from our extensive range of stock. These are cleaned down and inspected to ensure they are structurally sound. During this inspection we check for features which can be preserved during refurbishment, in order to help reduce your costs. Stripping We remove any component parts which are either not required in the final specification, or unsuitable for quality reasons. Dependent on the quality of the building this can range from small internal fittings to removing the walls and ceiling ready for replacement. 8 8
> > Second Inspection Once the building has been stripped down a second inspection is undertaken to ensure it s ready to begin the refurbishment process. Refurbishing First, any parts of the building fabric removed during the stripping process are replaced such as the floor boards, external panels, and/or roof coverings. The building is then fitted out to the agreed specification; adding partition walls, floor coverings, electrics, and plumbing. If required, the building can be brought up to current Building Regulations at this stage by upgrading the insulation in the walls, roof and floors. Air conditioning can also be added to help compliance. All schools and classrooms are refurbished to comply with Part M disability access. Finishing Interior and exterior finishes are completed. Your building can be clad in a variety of styles such as timber or brick skin, or painted to match your corporate colours. The building is now ready to be transported to site and installed by our construction team. 9 9
