Position Available: Reports To: Application Deadline: Status: Compensations/Benefits: Colorado Springs Teen Court Job Announcement Program/Development Specialist Executive Director July 2, 2018 Full Time (40 hours per week), Regular, Exempt Hours are consistently 9:30am to as late as 8:00pm- Monday through Friday. Late evenings are required. General Description: Education/Experience: Application Instructions: Functions as a member of the team with an emphasis in program for the youth in Teen Court. This position coordinates programming for at-risk youth as well as coordinates event planning/donor relations. Four-year degree from college or technical school; or 6 year related experience/training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Required Skills: experience in donor relations/fund development/fundraising, detail oriented, excellent oral/written/interpersonal /organizational skills, and strong team mentality. Date Revised: 2018-06-11 Exempt Status: EXEMPT Position Status: ( FT, PT, IC*) FT Program and Development Specialist Responsible for assisting in resource development, marketing, donor relations, fundraising, and communication efforts. Interfaces directly with donors, prospective donors, sponsors, and corporations to foster long term relationships. Responsible for assisting with programming support for the youth and their families. General Administration include the following, other duties may be assigned: Complete various administrative duties as necessary. Restore court house after each court session (i.e. court rooms, pre-trial rooms, attorney/ client rooms, conference rooms, ect.) Additional duties as required. Program Management include the following, other duties may be assigned: Supervise all court hearing sessions Coordinate post-sentencing explanation after court sessions (out-processing) including expungement. Facilitate specific classes and mediations when necessary. Attend weekly revocation docket for non-compliant Defendants. Continuously interact with Parents/Defendants/School Personnel until case dismissal. Track sentence completion and coordinate progress with Defendant party as necessary. Daily payment reconciliation. Develop, promote, and implement new programs based on best practices. Volunteer Management include the following, other duties may be assigned: Conduct training sessions for Volunteers on a regular basis. Assist with recruiting potential Volunteers. Program Analysis and Reporting include the following, other duties may be assigned: Update files, database, records, and other documents. Maintain spreadsheets and data entry for programs. Assist in collecting data for statistical reporting on Defendant and Guardian demographics, sentence requirements, offense details, Defendants personal/legal/school history. Relationship Development Outreach include the following, other duties may be assigned: Promote Teen Court through presentations and functions within the community. Assist with Donor support and Fundraising events. Identify and cultivate sponsors and donors. Actively solicit, call on, engage, and steward donors leading to increased contributions. Maintain thorough and accurate database records. Create and update marketing documents and all collateral support. Conduct prospect research for new funding opportunities. Create monthly e-newsletters. Maintain donor confidence by keeping information confidential. Individually recognize all contributions and donations through phone calls, meetings, and personalized letters of gratitude. Participate in collaborative programs with other local and national organizations. Represent Teen Court on social media. Update website and all electronic media platforms.

Experience in donor relations/fund development/fundraising/event planning. Excellent organizational skills. Extreme comfort reaching out to donors and corporations. Ability to be a self-starter. Must be extremely detail oriented. Must be able to handle multiple projects at one time. Excellent oral/written/interpersonal/organizational skills. Effectively able to work in a team centric environment. Ability to adapt to changes quickly. Preferred- Adobe Design software experience. Language Ability: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret court documents and other written communications. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from Executive Directors, Staff, Board of Directors, Volunteers, Defendants and their Parents. Reasoning Ability: Deductive reasoning ability to apply general rules to specific problems to produce answers that make sense. Inductive reasoning ability to combine pieces of information to form general rules or conclusions (includes finding a relationship among seemingly unrelated events). Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Ability to maintain confidentiality. Respect for diverse cultures and ability to work and interact with all types of people. Computer Skills: Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records, designing forms, and other office procedures and terminology. Proficient in all Microsoft office programs. Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to lift up to 25 pounds. The vision requirements include: close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Logistical Requirements: Must pass a criminal background check. Must provide pre- and post-employment drug screening tests. Must provide fingerprint documentation (provided).
