Standardized agro techniques for Castor, sunflower and Rabi groundnut. 2. Screened suitable vegetable crops to be grown as intercrops in Coconut garden 3. Identified suitable varieties of identified vegetable crops to be grown as intercrop in coconut garden. 4. Screened suitable soybean varieties for growing as intercrop coconut garden. 5. A project on mixed farming in coconut garden was initiated and monitored. This comprises integration of coconut, fodder grass, milch animals, poultry, Rabitary, fishery and biogas in one hectare garden. 6. Monitored long term fertilizer experiment in coconut garden.

7. Initiated intercropping of Medicinal crops in coconut garden. 8. As the Principal scientists in zonal coordinating unit, Bangalore monitored the activities of KVKs, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Pondicherry. 9. As Zonal Coordinator sincerely systematized the functioning of KVKs in Andhra Pradesh & Maharashtra. Facilitated the KVKs in establishing demonstration units, making them self sustaining and also by providing opportunities for updating the knowledge of technical stall. 10. As Head Division of Extension conducted trainings, demonstrations, Awareness camps, Brain Storming session, Interaction meetings and seed village programmes for the benefit of developmental officials and farmers. 11. Conducted demonstrations on various IIHR technologies namely foliar nutrition in Banana, Mango and Vegetables, integrated pest management in Vegetables, improved IIHR varieties, use of bio-fertilizers and use of improved farm machinery in horticultural crops in various states including Karnataka. 12. Conducted exhibitions at various places for showcasing the IIHR technologies, awareness camps, interaction meetings etc. 13. Arranged Brain storming session on seed production in vegetables, organic horticulture, cultivation of ornamental crops under protected cultivation and marketing of horticultural crops, involving various stakeholders. 14. Used innovation extension methodologies like farmers field school approach, Technoagents in horticulture and seed village concept for popularizing technologies in Horticulture. 15. Helped in the infrastructure built up including establishment of instructional unit, soil test laboratories, operation of revolving fund etc. at various KVKs and also institutes. 16. Streamlined the research projects of various scientists and also Adhoc projects of the institute including regional stations. 17. Facilitated in commercialization of IIHR technologies. Nearly 30 technologies have been sold to 85 clients. 18. Published nearly 200 articles including five books.

Awards and recognitions received 1. Awarded Gold Medal for securing highest marks in the Ph.D. programme in Agronomy by University of Agricultural Sciences, Bangalore. 2. Won PLACROSYM (Plantation Crops Symposium) award for best original paper presentation for the article entitled performance of soybean varieties as intercrop in coconut garden at IX PLACROSYM held at CPCRI, Kasargod during December 1992. 3. Won C.S. Venkatram Memorial award for the best paper published in Journal of plantation Crops, Vol. 24 No. 2 for the article entitled Effect of Long Term Fertilizer Application and Cultural Practices on Soil Chemical Properties and Yield of Coconut at XII PLACROSYM held at Coimbatore in December 1998. 4. Conferred Fellow of Indian Society for Plantation Crops during 2000 for substantial contribution to research & development of plantation cops. 5. Conferred Lifetime achievement award by United Writers Association, Chennai in 2002. 6. Conferred Pratibha Puraskar by Akhila Karnataka Havyaka Mahasabha at their Annual meeting held at Sullia, Dakshina Kannada District in January 2002. 7. Best Paper award from Indian Society of Agronomy, titled Impact of Integrated Mixed Farming System in Coconut (Cocos nucifera) garden on coconut yield and economic analysis published in Indian Journal of Agronomy 46 (1): 56-63, 2001. 8. Won late Smt. Y. Krishna Rao Sawant Moial award for 2004 05 for excellence in Agricutural Journalism, Communication and field extension given by the Maharashtra society of Extension during January 2005 at the Convention held at Konkan Krishi Vidyapeeth, Dapoli. 9. Awarded certificate of recommendation by Indian Society for Plantation Crops, Kasargod during its Silver Jubilee Celebrations for rendering Yeoman service for the society as Secretary during 1989-90. 10. Awarded for outstanding service rendered during 1994-95 as President, Lions Club, and Kasargod and for sight first achievement by Lions Club International District, 324E2.
