The Head of Events and Corporate Partnerships will have strong customer relationship skills, the desire and ability to make by proactively seeking out hiring opportunities. They will arrange the delivery of strong, high quality events whilst assisting in maximising income potential and controlling overheads to achieve financial targets. You will be involved with all aspects of event planning and delivery, from taking initial enquiries and conducting site visits, to liaising with internal and external service providers to make all necessary arrangements and managing the event on the day if required. It is essential that you have strong project management and planning skills and the ability to form and manage relationships with peers and creative artists. Excellent communication skills and the ability to make informed decisions are also required for this post. Job Description Head of Events and Corporate Partnerships Reports to: Key working relationship: Development department Responsible for: Executive Director Artistic Director, Marketing and Communications Manager, Venue Manager. Main purpose of the role: To be responsible for the proactive development, management and outstanding delivery of the commercial, community and arts hires at Theatre Peckham, achieving annual targets and developing new business. The Head of Events and Corporate Partnerships is responsible for generating income from the buildings resource and building relationships with corporate partners who may sponsor/donate to or hire the venue. The Head of Events and Corporate Partnerships is responsible for meeting financial targets set by the Executives. The post holder will build excellent internal and external relationships with hirers, corporate partners and stakeholders to enhance the reputation and programmes of Theatre Peckham. To ensure that the reputation of Theatre Peckham as a leading centre of artistic excellence in the UK, with a world class standard is enhanced by the events programme presented and the customer care provided. Key Responsibilities: Strategic Work within the strategic sales business plan outlined by the Executive Director. Arrange and host hirer and Corporate cultivation events during the year to increase uptake Seek new business opportunities, including commercial filming & photographic shoots, and protect and develop existing business relationships with clients. Proactively promote and manage the hire of the auditorium and studios to commercial conference and meeting bookers, community organisations and arts organisations for the purpose of presenting events both private and public. Events and Partnerships Actively seek out organisations and individuals who are looking for a venue to host their event Act as the main contact for all hires and corporate partnerships Proactively build relationships with potential partners and hirers locally and nationally and maintain existing relationships Work with the Executive to schedule available space, balancing artistic programme, classes, events and hires Communicate effectively with partners, ensuring they are kept up to date with availability, and that they are invited to relevant events
In collaboration with the Development department, research and identification of opportunities for the development of the business sponsorships to achieve targets and ensure business growth With the Marketing and Communications Manager, identification of opportunities for crossselling and upselling to corporate and community clients Secure commercial venue hires income and sponsorship opportunities against set targets Maximise income potential from all Theatre Peckham resources. Enhance the reputation of Theatre Peckham as an events venue, by delivering high quality events Creation and maintenance of a database of current and previous users for use in promoting special offers, e-shots and any other promotional activity Development and management of systems and procedures to ensure that prospects are exploited to secure sales targets and business growth Creation, implementation, and maintenance of an enquiry handling procedure in order to maximise revenue and profit Administration of all contracts issued for programmed and hire events To ensure that all hires are correctly booked including the booking of all resources. Act as a first point of contact for hiring enquiries regarding prospective events for the artistic programme and hires Line manage the Venue Manager to deliver events to a high standard, ensuring the coordination of all practical arrangements (room booking, catering, registration etc.) Liaison with technical staff to ensure timely and correct set up and delivery of operation aspects of events including lights, sound, staging etc Provide on-site management to ensure the correct delivery of events; Ensure all health and safety procedures are communicated with artists and managements and freelance creative and programming staff. Ensure, where required, that method statements and risk assessments are provided by clients and approved by the Executive Director to comply with Health and Safety regulations Finance and Administration Maximisation of the profitability of individual events by creating and tracking budgets for each event, in agreement with the Executive Director Manage the budget of the department, monitoring expenditure and ensuring that committed income is received in a timely manner, apportioned correctly and Partnerships income records updated Ensure that financial data related to venue hire is accurate and well-managed including the inputting of data and the raising of invoices when required Timely and accurate compliance with company requirements for month-end procedures and interpretation of profit and loss reports to identify and put into effect actions to mitigate losses and maximise profit Maintain and safeguard all documentation, records, filing systems and databases required to ensure compliance with all internal policies, data protection, financial and other regulations including Gift Aid To implement a process for hirer feedback and circulate learnings from information gathered. You will be working 3 days (equivalent to 21 hours) per week. Due to the nature of the role, there will be occasional weekend and evening work. Circa 30,000 to 35,000 pro rata depending on experience 20 working days per year plus statutory holidays pro rata.
