Allerton Bywater Primary School Leeds Road, Allerton Bywater Castleford, WF10 2DR Head teacher: Richard Cairns 01977522620 www.allertonbywater.leeds.sch.uk WELCOME TO ALLERTON BYWATER PRIMARY SCHOOL Letter from the Head teacher Dear Applicant, Many thanks for expressing an interest in our school. Do take some time to look through our website and latest OFSTED report (June 2015) to find out more about what we can offer. I think Allerton Bywater is a brilliant school. We value everyone connected with the school and place great importance on the successes of all our pupils. In July 2015 OFSTED reported that Allerton Bywater is a good school. We work hard in school to ensure all our children are actively engaged in learning and our new innovative curriculum has been designed to ensure all children are learning in stimulating lessons. A number of extra curriculum clubs ensures that our children have access to a range of exciting and stimulating activities from football to dancing and even our new Yoga Club (and many more). I believe that schools are at the heart of any community and as a school we pride ourselves in involving, not just parents, but the wider community in the day to day running of our school. As well as FAB (Friends of Allerton Bywater) who help the school raise valuable funds throughout the year we also have an increasing army of volunteer helpers who support us daily. Our most important customers are our children. Their opinions are listened to and valued through School Council where they have regular meetings and discuss a wide range of issues every few weeks. You would also be working in a school that is part of the Brigshaw Learning Partnership which is a multi-academy trust. The Trusts key priorities are focused on improving the quality of teaching, learning and leadership in our schools to enable pupils to achieve better outcomes, and, through our Guidance and Support Team, providing swift and easy access to a range of multi-agency services for children, young people and their families who face barriers to learning. If you wish to pursue your interest in the post, please complete the application form, in full, and in black ink or typescript, in order that legible copies can be photocopied, and return it to school by the closing date. If you have a disability and require this information in a different format, for example, Braille, larger print or on CD, please contact school. There are some guidance notes enclosed in the information pack to assist you in completing your application. Please note that it is our policy not to accept late applications except in exceptional circumstances which are outside of your control. If we have not contacted you within four weeks of the closing date please assume that your application has been unsuccessful. I hope you will appreciate that the decision not to acknowledge unsuccessful applicants has been taken in the interests of cost effectiveness. We look forward to receiving your completed application form in due course and if you are interested in the post I would encourage you to contact school to arrange a visit. Richard Cairns Head Teacher
