P_ III PORT-RAIL CONNECTIONS III- Assesment of the integration of the Adriatic port system with the hinterland: RAIL Rail infrastructure in majority of A-I Region countries does not meet the standards required to satisfy the operational needs of the market. Rail traffic appears not particularly developed, mainly due to technical and infrastructure bottlenecks at border lines. - Lack of interoperability - Underinvestment

TEN-T priority project 29 (Railway axis of the Ionian/Adriatic intermodal corridor) and the connector links from Athens, V-GUIDELINES GUIDELINES FOR A MORE SUSTAINABLE PASSENGER MOBILITY The rail infrastructure development up to 2020(2030) should generate a significant improvement of main efficiency indicators of the rail network, specifically for the level of service, with functional benefits on the whole A-I rail network TEN-T priority projects (Railway axis of the Ionian/Adriatic intermodal corridor) and SEETO CN Interoperability improvements and positive effects in many cross border rail links Sustainable rail fleet management and rail network management, internalization and co-modality
