Direct strategic sourcing activities and develop a fact based category plan through proactive engagement with the business unit stakeholders to ensure agreement and realisation of sound commercial outcomes as applicable to all aspects of the category. Strategic Alignment Outcomes The purpose of this role is to support various Telstra business units achieve their business strategies by providing commercial solutions in line with the Vendor Management and Strategic Sourcing processes, and to lead and manage commercial relationships associated with with vendors who have complex sourcing arrangements and agreements with Telstra. Develop a fact based category plan through proactive engagement with the business unit stakeholders to ensure agreement and realisation of sound commercial outcomes. Contribute to and lead execution of the Category Plan which includes understanding Telstra's spend trends, forecast and internal stakeholder strategy and requirements. Lead cross-functional business teams; assist in the execution of Category Strategies when sourcing/purchasing goods and services for Telstra. Create/prepare and manage project documentation, including negotiating and contracting with suppliers, in line with strategic sourcing processes. Reduce and or optimise total cost whilst improving the overall quality of the Category that this role supports through the use of buying experience and very strong negotiation skills. Lead the timely development and negotiations of complex contracts/agreements with vendors that enable the effective delivery of key business requirements, in terms of complex outcomes, timeline and risk profile. Act as interface between Telstra and the Category and Supplier portfolio. Key Stakeholder Relationships

Cateogory owner contributing as per the Category Management framework to the creation and execution of detailed category plans covering: o Electricity (retail & landlord accounts), metering, Gas, Fuels (diesel generators) for all Telstra facilities. Note electricity represents 90% of Telstra s total carbon emissions and is a key priority. o Mains water for all Telstra facilities. o Document storage/management, General (Landfill), Recyclables, E waste, Secure document/waste destruction, Hydro excavation categories associated with operational and project related activities within all Telstra facilities. Develop a fact based Category plan, build and maintain strategic relationships with the senior BU Stakeholders so that you are the Procurement expert for the category by identifying high value financial and non-financial initiatives. Proactively research and source market information pertaining to the portfolio to ensure currency of information. Develop and deliver sourcing, supplier management and price negotiation strategies for category. Lead, negotiate and implement any required changes in existing contractual arrangements to add maximum value to changing business requirements and deliver savings targets. Identification, assessment and implementation of new revenue streams such as demand side response contracts, saving certificates etc Directly negotiate and establish (new connection, upgrade & retail), water and waste contracts within prescribed company policies and guidelines Identify key commercial and strategic risks and develop effective issues and risk management plans to mitigate and manage these risks. Active monitoring and implementation of strategies to reduce Aged Debt and late fees Ensuring cost optimisation of tariffs and contract structures Liaise with Retailers and resolve contractual issues, manage conflict and negotiate contract variations Provide advice and input into any contracts that are procured and/or managed indirectly (e.g. through Property Services Manager vendor)
