Overview of Agile Product Lifecycle Management Integration Pack for SAP: Design to Release 11.1 The Agile Product Lifecycle Management Integration Pack for SAP: Design to Release 11.1 supports exchange of product content between Oracle Agile PLM and SAP ERP for new product introductions as well as product design updates. These best practice processes orchestrate a near real-time and highly responsive manufacturing release process for new products and design update, from Agile PLM to SAP ERP. The Key Processes supported are: New Part Request ( Item Number from SAP ) New Product Introductions ( Items, BOMs, Revisions etc) Product Design Updates ( ECO, MCO, SCO) Synchronization of Item Cost attributes from SAP to Agile. Value Proposition for Agile Product Lifecycle Management Integration Pack for SAP: Design to Release 11.1 The Agile Product Lifecycle Management Integration Pack for SAP: Design to Release 11.1 retains the flavor of the 2.5 AIA release and is built on the top of Oracle AIA Foundation Pack 11g. This release of the pre-built integration also includes bug fixes from prior releases. Agile Product Lifecycle Management Integration Pack for SAP: Design to Release 11.1 is focused on the following key areas: Support for the Oracle AIA Foundation Pack 11g Bug fixes Key Functionalities include: New product introductions (Items& BOM) Product design updates (ECO, MCO and SCO) ECO queue management and process monitoring Synchronization of Item Cost attributes from SAP to Agile New part request Multi-site PLM and multi-plant manufacturing support Integrated, extensible business process execution workflows and notifications framework Cross-application business process models and domain value maps Robust process monitoring and user friendly error handling Support for user-extensible business logic, validations and transformation Oracle Application Integration Architecture replaces traditional enterprise application integration with flexible, pre-built, standards-based business process integration solutions. As an AIA offering, the Design to Release PIP includes all of the necessary business process models, canonical objects, and web services you need out-of-the-box. Now you can quickly orchestrate a sustainable design to release business process across Agile PLM and SAP with reduced cost and risk. In addition, the AIA adaptable framework enables you to extend the integration to accommodate your specific business needs. Copyright 2011 Oracle. All rights reserved. 7

Product Enhancements for Agile Product Lifecycle Management Integration Pack for SAP: Design to Release 11.1 No integration process enhancements were done for the Agile Product Lifecycle Management Integration Pack for SAP: Design to Release in the 11.1 release. Participating Applications Certified Versions The following are the versions of the applications that are certified for use with this release: Application Versions Agile PLM 9.2.2.6 /9.2.2.7/ 9.3/ 9.3.0.1/9.3..0.2/9.11.1 SAP R/3 4.7/ ECC 6.0 AIA Foundation Pack The Agile Product Lifecycle Management Integration Pack for SAP: Design to Release 11.1 is supported by Oracle AIA Foundation Pack 11gR1 (11.1.1.4.0 & 11.1.1.5.0) and available on Oracle Fusion Middleware/SOA Suite 11g (11.1.1.4.0 & 11.1.1.5.0). Agile Product Lifecycle Management Integration Pack for SAP: Design to Release 11.1 Features The integration between Agile Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) and SAP is designed to enable the product development process and address the primary use cases around the synchronization of product content information between Agile Product Collaboration and SAP. This allows for rapid implementation of Oracle's next-generation integrated enterprise PLM processes helping the customers reduce costs and any risks associated with typical third-party and custom integrations. The business benefits of this integration are: Reduced time to market for new products Faster time to volume Improved product quality Minimum supply chain disruption from new product introductions Predictable and sustainable product and process innovation Lower total cost of ownership of enterprise PLM platform Reduced implementation risks Copyright 2011 Oracle. Agile Product Lifecycle Management Integration Pack for SAP: Design to Release 11.1. Release Notes The Agile PLM Integration Pack for SAP Release 11.1 supports the following functional flows: Process integration for new part request Process integration for change order release Process integration for item attribute update Process Integration for New Part Request Agile PLM is the system of record for product design and part information, new part numbers themselves may originate in a system outside of Agile. This is easily understood when looking at the interactions of various roles that can be involved in the process of generating new part numbers. An engineer designing an electronic assembly, for example, a circuit board may need a part that cannot be found in the system, for instance, a new resistor. The engineer raises a new part request to doc control to route the request to materials managers for review. A buyer looks into catalogs offered by approved manufacturers and finds a couple of parts that meet the criteria. The buyer then contacts the manufacturers, confirms availability, procures specifications, and then approves the new part request with the new manufacturer part numbers attached to it. Doc control compiles all the information and assigns an internal part number corresponding to the manufacturer parts and informs the engineer. A New Part Request (NPR) process can be triggered on demand by user in Agile PLM. This is a synchronous process, which reserves and fetches the part number from the SAP system. Process Integration for Change Order Release The change order release comprises of new Part/Product Release (PREL) and Product Design Modification (PDM) flows from Agile PLM triggered by a standard ECO or a manufacturing change order (MCO) or a site change order (SCO) release event in Agile PLM. While Agile PLM is the system of record for item description, design, specs, and other information, SAP typically has many more attributes and placeholders for information than the Agile PLM system. Hence, the change order release needs to be updated in the SAP. A corresponding Engineering Change Order is created in SAP with the appropriate status. The release of a change order in Agile PLM acts as a trigger for the synchronization of product design information with SAP. Because Agile PLM is a system of records for product design data, the synchronization process involves transfer of the released revision of product design from Agile PLM to the SAP. Process Integration for Item Attribute Update As a necessary part of the manufacturing update process, the ability to update a change order line in Agile PLM with updates on the Item cost attributes from the SAP system is a key component of the synchronization capability of the integration. This process is done through a batch operation in SAP. 14 Copyright 2011 Oracle. All rights reserved.
