Port of Koper development plans extension of pier 1 and 2, construction of new pier 3, logistics-distribution centre in port s immediate hinterland, new main entrance, new railway track connecting the port with its hinterland. Strategic business orientation: - multipurpose port - highlight on containers and cars ADDITIONAL 400 HECTARES OF PORT AREA (according the new National Spatial Development Plan)

Port of Koper ICT objectives Simplification and further communication with partners: shipowners and EDIFACT fully supported forwarders and rationalization of work orders connection on B2G level (Single Window, especially with the Customs and Maritime administration) focus on railway connection and empower the dataquality exchanged among players B2B segment (SCM, edoc, web services) Improvement on TINO system (for higher productivity and data quality) Car terminal system modernization Container terminal automatization Paperless procedures: e-archive, e-invoices (external) Further BI development
Port of Koper project contribution URSP - LK Single window approach on the vessel announcments activities of the Shipowners/Agents/Liners The main objective is that all the data regarding the vessel announcments are entered only once via B2G portal of the Slovene Maritime Administration This pilot shows also that data exchange is simplified not only localy but also for port to port collaboration usage Pilot revealed many connection optimization points and legislation adaptations that should be covered before real production
Port of Koper project contribution EDI CENTER A feasibility study of the EDI CENTER, defining possibilities and issues using EDIFACT messages for Liners in the Port of Koper environment The Study and the Pilot involved also one big Liner, the company MSC (IT department and local Agent) Pilot confirmed that the connection with the ITS Adriatic multiport gateway s platform is possible using Edifact Pilot was only the first step towards a fully implementation of the EDI Center (in the first phase the pilot covers only the sea side of the operations, second phase would cover land operations for container terminal a big impact on the local community is expected)
