2 PC118 Rosslyn Meeting Resolution1: PC118 authorizes the PC118 secretariat to circulate an international ballot for approval of OpenADR 2.0 B with an IECspecific foreword as a publicly available specification. The foreword will indicate how this PAS fits into the IEC family of standardization. Resolution2: PC118 authorizes the PC118 secretariat to register OpenADR 2.0 B as a committee draft and to develop modification as necessary to achieve an IEC standard, involving relevant IEC parties. 2

3 Introduction Based on the following 3 tasks which TC57 and PC118 had identified : Task1(T1) To make DR CIM extensions ; Task2(T2) To develop the adaptor between CIM and OpenADR; Task3(T3) To develop a full IEC DR standard. 3

4 Purpose and Outcomes Task1(T1) To make DR CIM extensions Purpose: To make CIM extension to fully support Demand Response Outcome: To form Data & Information model as a part of the full IEC DR standard Task2(T2) To develop the adaptor between CIM and OpenADR Purpose: To achieve interoperability between OpenADR profile and IEC CIM Outcome: To form a TR. We can take the adaptor as a part of the DR IS. Task3(T3) To develop a full IEC DR standard Purpose: To formulate a fully CIM compliant DR standard (or OpenADR-like IEC profile) Outcome: To propose a deliverable as a IEC standard which ensure the openness and interoperability for industry. 4

6 T1:How to extend CIM-based information model Information model standard is the core content,in other words, is the soul of the standard it belongs. In this perspective, we should give priority to carry out the preparation of DR information model. 6

8 Why OpenADR which is the practical specification has been applied to multiple U.S. DR projects, its modeling outcomes can be directly as inputs; The information models OpenADR dependent has been defined in detail in the form of XML Schema(XSD) in OASIS EI v1.0, EMIX v1.0 and WS-Calendar v1.0 respectively; IEC DR standards need to comply with IEC CIM framework. 8

Sub-step2: Supplement the UML model based on the requirements and use cases. 10

18 T2:Recommendations for the Adapter The extension models of CIM DR are based on OpenADR and there s no need to design interface between them. On the contrary, the other part which M2 M1 CIM is also part of CIM doesn t match with OpenADR, so the interface is necessary. But the work is much easier and less adapter than that between OpenADR and the CIM DR extension. openadr 18
