2 Welcome Fellow Producers: 2015 marks our 17th Annual Performance-Tested Angus Bull and Female Sale. We invite you to attend the sale on Sunday, March 22 at 1 p.m. It will be held at the Bloomington Livestock Exchange, Bloomington, Wisconsin. Our family is very proud of this offering. We have continued to focus on producing industry relevant bulls and invite you to take advantage of the 2K breeding program. The bulls are fed a high roughage diet from weaning to sale time. This permits us to test the bull s performance and genetic potential without sacrificing longevity. Bulls are enrolled in performance tests, ultrasound data collection, and breeding soundness exams allowing us to capture a wide range of data to evaluate the true merit of each individual. At 2K, we utilize the Angus Herd Improvement Record (AHIR) Program provided through the American Angus Association in order to track our herd s performance year after year. This allows us to identify genetically superior females in our own herd and utilize those genetics more widely. In addition, it enables us to pinpoint herd strengths and weaknesses providing us areas where we can add value to our herd to pass onto our customers. We continue to use EPDs and index values as selection tools to ensure our customers get the best product possible. Selecting on extremes has never been our ultimate goal, we focus on using balanced approach to make sustained progress. Keeping the commercial cattlemen s needs in mind when making selection decisions drives us to keep our bulls balanced but diversified enough to fit any program. Realizing the options are endless when choosing your next herd sire prospect, we would appreciate your consideration. Increasing profits for both our seedstock and commercial customers is always the number one goal. Market signals show feeders are paying a premium for quality weanlings brought into their feedyards. We encourage you to invest in the best genetics possible to enhance the value of your herd. Thank you to our many customers that have purchased genetics in the past. We look forward to seeing you this year, and invite new buyers to join us as well. See you at the sale on March 22. Sincerely, Kevin & Keri Retallick & Family As a livestock auction owner who is the meeting place of buyers and sellers alike merchandising over 200,000 cattle annually creating a true market transparency, the auction way, I must say it is ever so important in today s cattle market place to evolve with an ever changing cattle industry. I can say first hand that year after year we have the privilege of selling thousands of cattle whether feeder cattle or fed cattle deriving from 2K. Cattle that are consistently at the top of all of our markets when they come to town offering a versatility that fits the need of every cattlemen/cattlewoman out there and their herds of mama cows. 2K cattle are long, deep and thick and really perform in the feedlot sector and so importantly peel like a grape for the Packer and the end user. We have worked with the Retallick Family for years and years, now a multi-generational family in the Angus business who has been one of the great pioneers of the quality cattle produced here in the Tri-State Region, a true testament to the fact that allows us here at Bloomington Livestock to place these quality cattle across the entire feeding sector of the United States. These days here in Southwest Wisconsin, not only do we go to buyer offering them these quality cattle of performance, they are now coming to us. This makes us very proud to say. A tip of the hat to the Retallick Family for all they ve brought to business in all their years of hard work and evolution to produce superior cattle for all.
