1 Biodata of Dr. Shinoj Parappurathu Dr. Shinoj Parappurathu (Born in 1980) joined NCAP as a scientist in October, Dr. Shinoj graduated from Kerala Agricultural University in the year 2001 and is the recipient of KAU merit scholarship for excellence in academics. He completed M.Sc. and Ph.D. in agricultural economics from Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI), New Delhi in the year 2004 and 2007 respectively. His area of specialization is agricultural marketing and international trade. Shinoj belongs to the 2005 batch of ARS and was presented the Best Trainee Award from National Academy of Agricultural Research Management (NAARM), Hyderabad in 2007 for his outstanding performance in academic and extra curricular activities. Dr. Shinoj had been a visiting scholar at Department of Applied Economics and Management, Cornell University, New York and at Food and Agricultural Policy Research Institute (FAPRI), Iowa State University, Ames, United States. Besides this, Dr. Shinoj had also been consultant to Food and Agricultural Organization (FAO)-India Office, New Delhi, SAARC Agricultural Centre (SAC), Dhaka, Bangladesh and National Agricultural Cooperative Marketing Federation (NAFED), New Delhi. He has so far published 15 research papers in journals of national repute, in addition to several popular articles, policy briefs / papers and research papers presented in various national/international conference/seminars/workshops/symposia. HONOURS/AWARDS Best Trainee Award, 81 st Foundation Course for Agricultural Research Service (FOCARS) from National Academy of Agricultural Research Management (NAARM), Hyderabad (2007). FELLOWSHIPS USDA Norman E. Borlaug International Agricultural Science and Technology Fellowship 2009 under Indo-US Agricultural Knowledge Initiative. Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) Junior Research Fellowship for pursuing Masters in Agricultural Economics from 2002 to Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI) Fellowship for pursuing Ph. D. in Agricultural Economics from 2004 to Kerala Agricultural University Merit Scholarship for Excellence in Academics in 1998.
