Campus, Surat. September 2010 to April 2011: Investigation on Hexavalent Chromium Bioremediation by a Mine Isolate, at VIT University, Vellore, Tamil Nadu. The work involved selection of best Chromium reducing bacteria from mine isolates, reduction and growth kinetics of the strain, preliminary mechanistic studies and growth parameter optimization and determination levels using two level factorial and central composite design. (One publication) January to May, 2009: Production of lipase from known and unknown cultures for resolution of chiral drug intermediates at SMVDU, Udhampur. The work involved isolation of lipase producing organism from known and unknown sources, chemical synthesis of chiral drug intermediates and use of known lipase producers for kinetic resolution. Isolation of the most active lipase followed by partial purification and immobilization and studying theffect of immobilization on lipase activity.
