2 CHANGES TO APPRENTICESHIP OCOT Responsibilities: Regulating over 150 skilled trades named under OCTAA Ensuring confidence in the qualifications of members, through a public register, with a mandate to gather and investigate complaints against members and to discipline members as required (includes all registered apprentices excluding OYAP) Establishing an Industry-driven approach Processing Membership applications (due within 90 days of RTA signing) Developing, revising and updating examinations (C of Q and exemption) Developing, revising and updating Training and Curriculum Standards Promoting skilled trades and apprenticeship Working with other governments and the College on the Interprovincial Red Seal Program for apprenticeship Collaborating with MTCU on issues affecting trades and apprenticeship

17 ENFORCEMENT The College has the authority to issue fines and lay charges The enforcement team is in the field across the province every day This is a new process and the College is actively educating members about their responsibilities under OCTAA
