11 Appendix C INVOLVEMENT IN MAJOR CAVERN DESIGN AND EXECUTION Multipurpose Underground Storage Complex, Taiwan Complex of tunnels and caverns in weak, tectonised rock conditions, data confidential, Responsible for geotechnical monitoring programme, shotcrete testing and improvement, specificaiton and tender evaluation for prestressed anchors SSSP Project Saudi Arabia 1989 / Design and execution (as subcontractor) of a large scale rock mechanics test program for site 1. This site is characterised by medium hard limestones with clay layers in bedding planes and distinct subvertical faults. The test program comprised large scale compression tests, shear tests and plate load tests plus a laboratory test program. In a later stage co-ordinator for a test program on dynamic properties of the rock mass (as a basis for weapon-load Design) 2. Lead Engineer for rock excavation and support Design for site 1 including static and dynamic loads. Guidance of 2D and 3D static and dynamic numerical analyses. 3.
