2 Give every member of your herd the same advantages the dominant ones take! T he more energy livestock waste in tearing a bit of feed out of the packed bale or digesting unprocessed bales, the more feed they have to consume. The energy in a bale is more accessible after processing. That s why many Bale King owners report feed savings of 20% or more. But feed savings are not the only advantage. Less stress: Windrow feeding gives every member of your herd the same opportunity to feed. The dominant members of your herd can t boss the entire windrow. The less dominant cows will have less stress, their immune systems will be healthier and overall herd performance improves. Windrow feeding also makes it possible to ration feed. Low confinement: Windrow feeding and the ability to properly bed increases your low confinement season. This is especially beneficial for your pregnant cows. With exercise, calving is easier. Feeding away from your pens also means less manure buildup in the pens. In spring, simply harrow the over wintering feed area to spread the manure and add nutrients to the growing grass. Blow the mold away: Mold doesn t necessarily mean the feed value is lower. Cattle simply don t like the taste of mold so they eat less than what is required to maintain condition. Processing your bales helps blow the mold and dust away. Also, the less appetizing outer layer gets mixed with the sweet inner core so palatability improves. Cattle will clean up older or lower quality feed when a high quality bale is processed on top. 4 Processors for every application Model 5100: Process any round bale Model 8100: Process square or round bales Total R ation As energy demands increase with storms, cold weather, or the late stages of pregnancy, Bale King makes it easy to feed the Total Ration required. To maintain body temperature, healthy cattle turn their furnaces on at 0ºC (32ºF). For every degree the wind chill is below 0ºC (32ºF) energy requirements increase by 4 to 5%. The wind chill doesn t have to drop by much for energy demands to double. It is rare for even the best bales to have a feed value that is high enough to meet the energy demands required for cattle to hold their own in cold weather. Top dressing makes it easy to keep your livestock in top condition. Model 5100TR: Comes with an integrated 40 bushel grain hopper and hydraulically driven discharge auger. Process any round bale and selectively top dress the processed windrow all in one pass. With current production models the 5100 processor can be upgraded to a 5100TR at any time. The 40 bu. grain hopper and discharge kit are available as a bolt on TR kit. M odel 5100TR comes with a 40 bushel grain hopper and discharge auger. On preseason orders a 100 bu. front mount grain tank and discharge auger are available on both the 5100 and 8100 models. Now you can meter and selectively Top Dress the processed windrow all in one pass. With these models you also have the option of metering grain or pellets, etc. into a bunk without processing the bale. For ranchers with higher top dressing requirements a 100 bushel front mount tank is available on pre-season orders. Page 4 GT40: Bunk feed or top dress. Feed and Bed More Livestock With Fewer Trips E fficiency is what the Bale King 6105 is all about. As herds get bigger and help more difficult to find the 6105 lets you feed and bed more livestock in less time. Instead of carrying 2 bales to your cattle, you ll carry 6. You ll feed and bed in less than half the time. Self loads, simply engage the driven rails as you back into your row of bales. Once loaded with 5 bales use the hydraulic forks to transfer a bale into the processor. Self load one more bale onto the rails and you re ready to process 6 bales for feeding and/or bedding with just one trip. 6 BALE KING VR Rakes More Features More Effective Raking In More Conditions Double Your Baling Productivity! During the prime baling hours, when dew and humidity are just right, you can double your baling productivity by having raked 2 windrows into one. Raking also aerates the swath so it cures faster. You ll have better hay and be done baling sooner. Raking 2 windrows into one puts no extra hours on your tractor. And, compared to baling hours, raking hours are much easier on your tractor. Plus the hours are going on a simpler machine with fewer moving parts than an expensive baler. With a bigger windrow you ll also keep your baler full at a slower, smoother speed. Raking, at a reasonable speed, when there s a bit of dew, is very easy on the leaves of your hay crop. VR rakes are designed to gently roll your crop into a windrow without shattering the leaves. Also lets you re-windrow and salvage blown swaths. VR rakes lift and turn swaths that have settled into the stubble so they cure faster and are easier to pick up. Equally effective at windrowing mowed hay. Superior Performance In More Conditions While most any rake will work in ideal conditions it s the superior performance of the VR rake in poor conditions that sets it above other makes. Tandem rear axles are standard on the VR483 series and are available on the VR481 series. With the new VR483, the rake wheels are closer so you get a more effective scratch pattern. You ll notice a big difference in all conditions including fine, light hay crops. Also, compare the before photo (above) with the after photo (left). Rain prevented timely raking and as you can see regrowth is coming through the cut hay. Even in these tough conditions the VR rake sweeps the ground clean. 7 You Get A Better Rake Wheel VR rakes start with a larger 62 dia. rake wheel. Almost 15% larger than the industry standard of 55. As a result VR rakes turn slower so they are easier on your crops, they roll easier and perform better in heavy crops. You also get 48 tines per wheel - 20% more than the industry standard of 40. With closer spaced tines you get better float and better ground coverage in fine crops. Tines are individually replaceable, only one bolt per tine. The wind guards are standard. Patented rake wheel spring system is a long lasting zero maintenance system which provides exceptionally smooth individual rake wheel flotation. Auto Rake Width Compensation - A Feature With other rakes, the raking width decreases as you increase the windrow opening. With VR the rake maintains its full raking width regardless of what the windrow width is set at. With VR you ll always have the raking width you paid for. You also get hydraulic, on-the-go control of windrow width. As crop conditions change within a field you can adjust the windrow width. Wider for a heavier crop and narrower for lighter areas such as hill tops. As a result, it will be easier to make better bales. Stronger VR rakes are built to last. You get stronger pivot points, a heavier main frame (5 HSS tube) no steel on steel in high wear areas, a powder coat finish and much more.
